Job Description Summary

The Life Science business has an exciting opportunity for a National Account Manager within our Integrated Diagnostics Solutions US Region business. The National Account Manager is responsible for managing national accounts within the IDS business unit for Retail Pharmacy, Retail Clinics, National Urgent Cares, and Wholesalers. The primary accounts are retail pharmacy accounts and clinics at the national account and regional level. This position will be responsible for setting developing and executing account strategies aimed at driving profitability, growth, and creating value programs between BD and our key customer accounts.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead efforts with existing Retail Pharmacy clinic accounts and leverage for expansion
  • Coordinate market development efforts within the retail pharmacy segment
  • Collaborate across business units and functions to leverage resources across BD
  • Lead “pilot projects” and coordinate BD resources to support retail business development opportunities
  • Identify areas to create value for our customers and lead the organizations' support efforts.
  • Overseeing and negotiating all contracts related to accounts
  • Working cross-functionally to ensure agreement on on financial requirements, reimbursement expectations, marketing strategies, and managed care requirements within each account
  • Developing overall multi-year national accounts strategy and implementation
  • Managing relationships with key internal stakeholders such as contracts, pricing, reimbursement, marketing, training, and field sales.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • BS / BA required; BS degree in a health- or business-related field strongly preferred.
  • Advanced degree, particularly MBA, MPH, or RPharm preferred. 
  • 10 years work experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals or managed care.
  • At least 5 years experience in the US market on national accounts and/or large retail pharmacy customers
  • At least 5 years experience leading complex contract negotiations with large accounts, preferably large retailers.
  • At least 3 years experience with working through channel partners preferably medical wholesale distribution
  • Demonstrated ability to work alongside sales and marketing resources as well as finance and legal personnel to ensure execution of strategic commercial initiatives
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.

  • Must be willing to travel at least 50% of the time.
