Reporting to the National Sales Director, the National Sales Manager (NSM) Breast Cancer provides inspirational leadership and direction to the Sales Team to successfully exceed performance objectives aligned to AstraZeneca's strategic direction.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • The National Sales Manager – Breast Cancer provides inspirational leadership and direction to the Breast Cancer Sales Team in order to successfully exceed performance objectives.
  • This role requires strong people leadership acumen to develop a high-performing team through effective coaching and mentoring in a highly competitive environment.  
  • He/she demonstrates a strong ability to develop strategic and long-term partnerships with relevant Oncology stakeholders and decision makers in the complex Oncology ecosystem.
  • She/He will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication abilities resulting in effective collaboration across functional areas to drive win/win outcomes that align to organizational objectives.
  • He/She will actively seek to discover and meet the needs of internal and external customers by building relationships, identifying strategic business opportunities and delivering innovative solutions. He/she will manage multiple priorities and resources related to individual and group efforts. 
  • She/He will be expected to create a motivating team culture which encourages continued growth and provides consistent recognition while challenging self and the team for continuous self-development in their current role and for future opportunities. He/she will take responsibility for redirecting efforts as needed to deliver high productivity and quality of work from self and others.
  • He/She will be asked to demonstrate strong business ethics, understand business principles and interpret resources available to make sound business decisions to help the team achieve standards of business excellence.
  • As this will be a growing team, she/he will also be a proactive talent scout for the organization with proven experience attracting, developing and retaining talent.

Essential Requirements

  • University degree in science and/or business.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years pharmaceutical experience with at least 3, as sales representative and 3+ years in sales management.
  • Track record of strong sales performance in Oncology or specialty care experience is preferred. Previous experience focused in Breast Cancer, would be an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, financial management and written & oral communications skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
  • Experience launching new products in a highly specialised market (Oncology, Specialty Care) is an asset
  • Previous exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business, i.e., Sales Training, Customer Solutions, Sales Operations, and Marketing.
  • Adaptability and strong advocate of change
  • Demonstrated experience and mastery in delivering a cross functional solution based approach (KAM).
  • Ability to travel to manage sales team across Canada.
