Regular, Full-Time

Canada - home based (Western Canada or Quebec ideal)

Reporting to the National Sales Director, the National Sales Manager (NSM) provides inspirational leadership and direction to the Lung/IO Sales Teams to bring new medicines to patients. The NSM will empower innovation to bring forward-thinking and cutting-edge solutions to positively impact the patient journey and meet AstraZeneca's exciting strategic direction.

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong people leadership to build a high-performing team through effective coaching, empowering and mentoring in a driven environment
  • Build strategic and long-term partnerships with relevant Oncology influencers and decision makers in the complex Oncology ecosystem
  • Seek to discover and meet the needs of internal and external customers by building relationships, assessing new insights, identifying strategic business opportunities and delivering innovative solutions while managing multiple priorities and resources related to individual and group efforts
  • Create a culture which encourages continued growth and provides consistent recognition while challenging self and the team to try new things for continuous self-development in current role and for future opportunities; redirect efforts as needed to deliver high productivity and quality of work from self and others
  • Demonstrate strong business ethics, understand business principles and interpret resources available to make sound business decisions to help the team achieve standards of business excellence
  • Be a proactive talent scout for the organization with proven experience attracting, developing and retaining talent for our growing Oncology team

Essential Requirements

  • University degree in science and/or business is an asset
  • Minimum of 7-10 years pharmaceutical experience with at least 3, as sales representative
  • Previous experience in sales management is an asset
  • Track record of strong sales performance in Oncology or specialty care experience is preferred
  • Background in diagnostics and/or a strong understanding of the diagnostic environment (I.e. Development of strategy or implementation of a diagnostics strategy) is an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, financial management and written & oral communications skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of launching new products in highly specialized market (Oncology, Specialty)
  • Previous exposure and/or experience in other functional areas (i.e. Brand Marketing) is ideal
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills resulting in effective collaboration across functional areas to drive positive outcomes aligned with the strategic direction
  • Adaptability and strong advocate of change
  • Demonstrated experience and mastery in delivering a cross functional solution based approach (KAM).
