Job Description
Routine management of teaching and caring in classroom
 Check different objectives and toys periodically in the classroom with other teachers to make
sure the safety. Report and solve problems in time to make sure personal safety of children;
 Accept inspection from Teaching Director and PYP Coordinator and principal;
 The language of instruction is English and should use English in teaching time. If English
teacher has language translation requirement, ask teaching assistant to help.
 Build pure English environment for students; in charge of children’s English and Personal,
Social and Physical teaching and learning.
 Design and decorate classroom environment according to educational objectives and unit of
inquiry, especially English environment.
 Make daily and weekly plan for English teaching and learning according to developmental
objectives; collaborate with Chinese teachers to fill in planners of each unit.
 Attend Collaborative Planning Meetings on time and work with Chinese teachers together to do PYP in classroom.
 Try to use real materials and environment for teaching and learning, to build a play-based,
concept-based teaching and learning. Reflect on teaching and learning of PYP timely and
record them in PYP planners; write end of semester student report card for each child and the
assessment for children during teaching and learning and other materials in children’s portfolio.
 Assist Chinese homeroom teachers to prepare big events in and outside of the kindergarten.
Health Care
 Observe children in the classroom and tell Chinese teachers when found sick or injured.
Assessment
 Plan and do assessment of children regularly, and assist homeroom teachers to make
educational objectives based on the results of assessment, especially English development
assessment.
 Conduct formative and summative assessment according to collaborative planning and make the assessment individualized.
 In charge of the English materials in each student’s portfolio and finish it on time.
Communication between kindergarten and families (depends on locations)
 Everyday smile and greet children when they are coming into kindergarten in the morning.
 Build nice relationships with parents, give feedback(both by oral and written reports).
 Collaborate with Chinese teachers for school Open Days.
Promotion and Student Recruitment
 Collaborate with school to do student recruitment activity on a monthly base.
