Job Description
IT is responsible for keeping SharkNinja humming. We provide our associates with the technical tools they need to be successful and to stay connected. Our Infrastructure team is made up of subject matter experts in a wide range of areas, we are the authority on Business Applications, Telecommunications, Network Administration, Cyber Security, Software/Hardware implementation and integration and much more. Our Application Development team is full of expert coders that are creating custom in house solutions from scratch for the business. We pride ourselves on our customer service and our ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently.
Position Overview:
The Network Administrator will be responsible for the daily management and maintenance of SharkNinja’s network operation to ensure optimal functional levels. He/she will identify network requirements and closely monitor performance while offering outstanding customer service both internally and externally.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep LAN and WAN operating at optimal performance at 99.9% of the time
- Design highly available network solutions based on requirements and best practices
- Monitor and analyze the performance of the different networking devices
- Define Network policies and procedures
- Be proactive in anticipating LAN/WAN failures and design solutions that prevent down time
- Secure the networking environment and lead network security reviews
- Provide next-level support and mentoring to helpdesk technicians on networking issues
- Install networking hardware and software
- Patch and update IOS networking software for routers, switches, ASA firewalls and wireless access points
- Keep appropriate documentation current and participate in developing a disaster recovery plan
Desired Skills and Experience
Attributes and Skills:
- Excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
- Deep understanding of Cisco firewalls, switches and routers. Profound knowledge of switching and routing protocols and IOS software programming.
- Excellent knowledge of Routing Protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF and BGP.
- Mastery of network technologies and protocols such as HTTP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, DHCP, SMB
- Knowledge of Understanding of networking concepts ( TCP/IP, Sub netting, VLANs)
- Knowledge of Microsoft networking and OS
- Strong communication skills in English and French with Chinese (an asset)
Education and Experience:
- University degree in computer science or related field
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is a must.
- 5-7 years networking experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in network Administration in a Cisco environment
Additional Requirements:
- CCNP/CCIE
- Linux Systems
