Function / Team -
- Design, Implement and Support AstraZeneca Networks.
- The Network Architect will work to ensure the end to end solution designs for business model enhancement are aligned to the strategic goals of the business and AZ IT.
- Experience of producing high and low-level designs for WAN, LAN, Wireless and Data Centre solutions to meet the businesses requirements
- Participate in the AZIT Network Architecture Review Board (NARB) governance framework and ensure overall design and implementation plan document quality meets expected standards.
- Expert knowledge of integration techniques and vendor capability of routers, firewalls and compute infrastructure
- Understand and appreciate industry best practices around fixed and wireless network design and configuration.
- Must have worked substantially in a similar role to the one specified for at least 10 years with reference able successful outcomes on a large scale complex enterprise network
- Awareness of developments in the marketplace for manufacturing domain focus and potential impact to AZ
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written documentation skills
Must have relevant skills, expertise and experience in one or more of the following capabilities
1) Enterprise, 2) Network Security or 3) Wireless infrastructure as follows
Enterprise
- Expert design knowledge of IP based networking architecture
- Experience of leading the implementing complex and first of type change
- Experience of network build standard configuration and industry best practice covering Cisco IOS, IOS-XE and NX-OS platforms
- Routing and Switching services based on Cisco ASR1K, ISR4K routers and Nexus 9K, Catalyst 9500/9300, 6807 VSS and 3850 switches
- Demonstrate an expert understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols
- Experience of designing and implementing Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies such as Cisco ACI or SD-WAN and Software Defined Access (SDA)
- Experience in designing, installing and operating Cisco DNA Center to manage SDA environments
- In depth knowledge of Cisco Catalyst 9500/9300 switches
- In depth knowledge and experience on Cisco IOS and Nexus devices to include routing (OSPF & BGP), switching and QoS experience
- High level of technical knowledge and experience on devices to include general load balancing principles on F5 and NetScaler platforms.
Security
- Experiences in designing and configuring a Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) architecture including policies, profiling and posturing best practice
- Experience in 801.x supplicant setup and configuration
- Experience of Tufin Products - SecureTrack and SecureChange desirable
- Firewall Policy and ruleset optimisation, analysis and best practice
- Cisco StealthWatch and NetFlow experience
- Experience in a multi-vendor firewall environment consists of Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, FirePower and Zone-Based Firewalls
- Expert working knowledge of Cisco Products; ASA, FirePOWER, ISE,
- Cisco CCIE Security or CCNP Security is a must have
- 10+ years of experience related to Cisco Security Products
Wireless
- Proven experience in designing and implementing Enterprise scale wireless networks
- Expertise in running Skype for Business over Wi-Fi networks
- Expert knowledge of Cisco 3700/3800/4800 Access Points
- Experience in Cisco and Aruba Wireless LAN Controller
- Expert knowledge and hands on experience in performing wireless site surveys
- Experience in Ekahau Site Survey Pro, Sidekick Pro and Spectrum Analyzer
- HiveRadar Wireless Site Survey Kit (WSSK)
Accreditations
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent and expert accreditation in one of enterprise, network security or wireless networking mandatory

- Cisco CCNP/CCIE Routing and Switching
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE Data Center
- Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
Security
- CCNP/CCIE Security
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
