We’re on the hunt for an experienced Network Engineer to join Global IT’s Network Engineering Team in Beijing, who will be responsible for managing infrastructure solutions with a focus on network technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission. The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission. The mission 80’s for this role, are:

• Responsible for prototyping new solutions as well as providing operational support to associates in the network and infrastructure teams as required.
• Responsible within the team for driving improvement of network operations.
• Responsible to deliver proof of concept build & design for new initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Mentor associates to upskill the team & Work with other guilds to outline solutions to drive process efficiency
• Automate processes where possible to reduce manual configuration
• Understand the infrastructure environment
• Enjoy working in a strong cross discipline team environment
• Manage the lifecycle of a call and any related incidents, problems or change requests.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware (predominantly MS Office and customized finance
• applications).
• Become a knowledgeable source on datacenter networking, WAN connectivity and campus networking
• Become an accretive member of the networking guilds enabling more effective delivery of quality project outputs
• Liaise with Support Teams to ensure any issues are logged into the call logging system and managed from end to end, with regular customer progress updates where needed.
• Effectively communicate to ensure all team members are aware of system outages, resource availability and workarounds.

Are you qualified?

• CCNA / CCNP desirable / Cisco ACI / Nexus switchgear & Firewall administration (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
• Storage area networking (Cisco, brocade) & knowledge of server hardware (Cisco, HPE, IBM)
• Experience targeting and driving infrastructure automation & streamlining change and maintenance workflow
• Experience of a scripting language (Python, perl, bash, powershell)
• Experience of automation tools (Ansible, puppet, chef)
• Proactive, enthusiastic and output driven
• Driven to develop existing, and learn new skills
• Willingness to embrace and drive change

• Must a have methodical, analytical approach & be able to work to aggressive deadlines whilst remaining flexible to the needs of the business
• Must be able to demonstrate a proactive attitude & always take the initiative in ensuring project outputs are delivered on time & to the expected quality
