How will you make an impact?
The Network Engineering position will focus on Wireless Networking. The Network Engineer will leverage knowledge of Wireless networking and operational practices to deploy & maintain wireless networks globally. You will collaborate with business, operations, network engineering group & vendors to build and automate the solutions which will enable faster, scalable deployment and management, globally. You will develop the metrics, and validate new solutions required to support the ecosystems of manufacturing, mobile devices, end user equipment, and workstations.
What will you do?
- Identifying, developing, and delivering technical solutions to utilize our wireless network technologies
- Dive deep on problems that involve networking technologies to resolve customer issues, identify root causes, document and develop corrective actions
- Testing new Wireless technologies, doing lab testing, proof of concept (PoC),
- Innovate and automate infrastructure testing, deployment, operations and life cycle management
- Be part of a team that implements and supports a global network environment to include routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers.
- Find opportunities to improve the enterprise network by implementing the network standards that have been established by the Global Networking Services team.
- Participating in the on-call rotation with other members of the team to ensure support coverage for the global enterprise network.
- Reporting status on a regular basis to ensure that management is aware of project status and managing/monitoring the Service Now work queue to address incident customer requests within the established service level agreements.
How will you get Here?
- BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security or similar field
- Minimum 3 years of experience with configuring, deploying, managing, troubleshooting routers and switches in an enterprise environment and 3+ years practical relevant experience in large-scale Wireless networking operations and engineering.
- Experience with Cisco Access Points and controllers as well as Cisco Meraki Wireless Access Points.
- Working knowledge of Cisco/Mist solutions in large scale global deployments
- Working knowledge of automating in, Perl/Python, or other languages.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Air magnet or other site survey software.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Telco: WAN connectivity, LAN connectivity, Fixed Wireless, Colocation services, basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Air magnet or other site survey software
- OSS/BSS: Service Now, Jira, TEM systems
- Network: Wireless Networking, SD-WAN, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, VPN, Firewalls, Router, Switch, Load Balancer
- Product: Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5, Silver Peak/Velo Cloud, Arista
- Automation: Ansible, Terraform, or Python
- Current certification such as, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, CCNP Wireless or similar
- A strong desire to establishing credibility with fellow engineers through teamwork and collaboration
- Develop relationships with our clients, engineering, and peer management teams, and effectively navigate across the organization
