Find out more about the Digital world of Siemens here: www.siemens.com/careers/digitalminds Job Description Company: SISW - EDA Job Title: NPI Program Manager Job Location: Fremont, CA Job Category: Operations Project Manager The NPI Program Manager is responsible for applying fundamentals of project management for new product introduction projects for hardware assisted verification systems used to develop highly sophisticated, next generation integrated circuits and FPGA prototypes. The NPI Program Manager will plan, execute, monitor & control and close multiple projects according to the Siemens product lifecycle process with an emphasis on new product introduction (NPI): managing operations-related tasks and deliverables. The NPI Program Manager will facilitate the completion of project tasks and deliverables with subject matter experts including supply chain, production planning, manufacturing, test, and quality. The NPI Program Manager will also interface with contract manufacturers., R&D and other disciplines as needed. The Operations Project Manager will also have a strong bias for action to directly complete tasks or deliverables especially for activities between functions. Duties/Responsibilities: · Work with the Director of Operations and Staff to execute the product lifecycle (PLC) process comprising of PLC phases, a pre-determined work breakdown structure (PLC checklist) as well as achieving gate (checkpoint) approvals to move into the next PLC phase(s). There are a total of seven PLC phases starting with of initial project and product definition to end-of-life. · Apply project management fundamentals and champion PLC process best practices: Create and execute effective project plans and deploy Operations core teams Drive and ensure committed milestones, deliverables and activities are achieved (including project, process and product goals). Call core team meetings and facilitate team member completion of tasks and deliverables Facilitate, identify and document actions required. Effectively communicate action item status and drive actions and accountable/responsible resources to closure. Execute and monitor integrated project schedules, primarily focused on (but not limited to) hardware build activities. Perform ongoing schedule maintenance and change management. Balance project resources, scope and schedule as more is learned about the project Identify risk areas and mitigation plans Create and manage budgets for capital and expense in support of operations NPI · Apply PLC process knowledge through coaching and facilitation of teams, in project plans, checkpoint and project reviews Lead new product introduction (NPI) to bring new designs into manufacturing. Follow and effectively apply the PLC checklist as well as achieve checkpoint approvals Manage/coordinate Operations involvement with the prototype and early production runs of new products including contract manufacturers in Europe and US Ensure all PLC-required action items and documentation is properly maintained, up to date and archived upon release Facilitate go-forward actions despite ambiguous problem statements or ambiguous root cause of failures Manage production ramp-up including responsiveness to requests and escalations during ramp phase Ensure products released from CM are at shippable –not Beta – level per PLC guidelines · Effectively interface with R&D while following the PLC and related design and product data management processes: Support R&D prototype, verification and validation activities as required by Operations Manage the process of working with R&D in the creation of bills of material for new products via product data management releases, engineering change orders, etc. Involve suppliers in R&D designs (e.g., contract manufacturers, fabricators, OEM’s) Facilitate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) for printed circuit board fabrication (and fabricated parts in general). Facilitate Design for assembly (DFA), Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Reliability (DFR) Drive and support early failure analysis work in coordination with R&D and quality assurance (QA) Support project governance by communicating and coordinating with project sponsors, functional managers, R&D program management, R&D and marketing. Required Skills/Abilities: Meticulous and detailed oriented Excellent critical thinking and communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others in 1x1 and in team settings. Mastery of MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerpoint Ability to create and maintain integrated project schedules in MSProject or equivalent Effectively document tasks and use task tracking tools Ability to consolidate information into MSPowerpoint for management consumption Working knowledge of MSTeams Familiarity with Arena or similar product data management tools (TeamCenter, Agile, etc.) Ability to read an electrical datasheets (Manufacturing part number matching) desirable Facilitate go-forward actions despite ambiguous problem statements or ambiguous root cause of failures Education and Experience: BS/BA 10 – 15 years’ experience in a high-tech product development environment working with a structured product lifecycle process and with complex products/systems Project Management Professions (PMP) certified Experience with Lean Six Sigma or Greenbelt, Blackbelt certification is a plus Experience working with electrical components and/or contract manufacturers is a plus Knowledge of documentation control and configuration management including bill-of-material structure and management Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reasons. #LI-EAD #LI-KM1 #LI-Hybrid Organization: Digital Industries Company: Siemens Industry Software Inc.
