This position is to analyze and prepare all sourcing and supply chain activities for a designated commodity area, which a.o. entail search and selection, reduction of supply risk, contracting, management of supply sources in order to maximize performance with minimum total cost of ownership. Enabling early supplier involvement by working closely together with all internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- You build and maintain sourcing commodity strategy in line with the global procurement strategy.
- You perform all sourcing actions for a given commodity with excellent knowledge on product, supply market, its players and contracting techniques.
- You investigate, select and develop sources of supplies in order to minimize supply risk and total cost of ownership, manage bidding requests and review quotations.
- You negotiate contracts between Barco and suppliers in order to maximize value for the company (price, flexibility, risk, product advantage, etc).
- You optimize management of supply sources with minimum total landed cost.
- You are responsbile for supplier KPI performance management.
- You take full ownership (on all levels and subjects) of the relationship between Barco and the suppliers.
- You assist Logistic Buyers in the operational purchasing activities in case of repetitive default and/or deviations from supply contract.
- You oversee organizational NPP contract development and management activities and enforce procurement organizational principles for integrity and compliance. Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into databases and securely maintained.
- You serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations. Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets.
We are looking for a Barco employee who…
- Holds a master or bachelor degree major in technical/commercial areas.
- Has minimum 3-5 years of purchasing experience.
- Has strong knowledge of principles and practices of purchasing.
- Has excellent social relation skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Has strong communication skill.
- Is result oriented & is a strong negotiator.
- Takes full of initiatives and organizational awareness.
- Is analytical, accurate and delivers high quality of work.
- Is good at analysizing and interpreting financial reports & statistics.
- Is experienced in applying organizational standards when developing requests for proposals, negotiating financial terms and drafting contracts.
- Has strong problem shooting & problem solving skills. Be able to draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
