Position Description:
As part of the Lenovo NA Category Organization, the Reverse Logistics and
Returns Project Manager is responsible for managing end-to-end Returns and
Reverse Logistics as it pertains to the following: strategy, process
improvements, cost savings, contracts and analytics. In addition, this role
will be responsible for initiating and overseeing the enablement of a “best in
class” returns and Reverse Logistics for the North America region. The Project
Manager will oversee and direct strategy for the end-to-end returns process
for Lenovo NA’s Retail, eCommerce, and Commercial segments including the
following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for partnering and collaborating with Lenovo’s Global Supply
Chain, Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, Product and Business Management,
e-Commerce and Quality teams to align requirements and drive the evolution of
the Reverse Logistics program. Identify and maintain strong relationships with
key vendors and internal stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of “best in class” reverse logistics operations from the
return to refurbishment and to sale of product, in order to develop and
oversee end-to-end processes which seek to achieve excellence in customer
experience, contribute to gross margin, and minimize operating costs.
• Set the overall strategy for credit returns screening, processing, system
transactions and reconciliation. Work with key stakeholders to ensure
appropriate credit amounts and retailer compliance with all return policies.
• Develop operational and process standards for all reverse logistics
programs. Identify and lead the resolution of issues with product, process and
documentation, as required.
• Vet and validate refurbishment and disposition vendors to ensure
reputability, environmental responsibility, and market control of Lenovo after
sale product. Execute disposition strategy accordingly.
• Establish best-in-class contractual terms for consideration by Sales/Legal
for all Retail & Commercial partner negotiations.
• Direct the implementation of Reverse Logistics strategy at the National
Returns Center for all reverse logistics programs: returns, repairs and
refurbishment.
• Set Returns Management Authorization (RMA) creation guidelines in alignment
with contractual terms and ensure adherence by Lenovo RMA team.
• Collaborate with Bus Managers to drive returns forecasting / modeling for
P&L management.
• Partner with Lenovo Services on parts harvesting and parts reuse for
warranty and post-warranty opportunities.
• Drive continuous product improvements through the collection and analysis of
related return and repair data, in close collaboration with the Quality team.
• Regular, clear and concise reporting of status of all aspects of returns and
RL to management.
#### Position Requirements:
• A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;
• 5-7 years of reverse logistics experience with solid business acumen and
knowledge of consumer and commercial products;
• Experience managing Reverse Logistics / Returns organizations
• Ability to develop strong relationships with suppliers and partners
• Experience developing and delivering training and improvement strategies.
Ability to convert these strategies into tactical plans and delivering results
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge
• Supply Chain certificate recommended (e.g., APICS, CSCMP, etc.)
• Strong analytical and executive reporting skills.
• Technology savvy in general, proficiency with MSOffice (Word, PPT, Excel)
• Excellent negotiation, persuasiveness and overall verbal and written
communication skills
• Strong medium- and long-term forward planning, organizational, prioritizing
and multi-tasking skills.
• Passionate, customer focused approach, driven by high customer satisfaction
levels.
• A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, capable of working with minimal
supervision.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
