YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, North America Varietal Pipeline Quality Scientist, are to: 

 

  • Develop and deploy shared metrics with partners to assess, monitor, and improve product performance, genetic diversity, and seed/trait quality of the North America varietal breeding pipelines;
  • Enable accessible and high-quality genomic data for effective genome wide selection training, haplotype mining and gaining new genomic insights;
  • Work across groups to ensure proper capture of germplasm intellectual property on confidential and proprietary research and development efforts;
  • Present compelling, validated stories to different levels of organization, including peers, senior management, and internal customers to drive both strategic and operational changes in business.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience OR PhD;
  • Education or applied experience in at least one of the following:  Breeding, Genetics, Computational Biology or related field;
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical learning using R, python, or other programming languages, and basic understanding of software development best practices.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Multidisciplinary experience in plant breeding and data science.

 

Domestic relocation may be offered for this role.
