Join our Smart Infrastructure Division as an Area Sales Manager covering the North of England and parts of Scotland and help us re-imagine the world by finding solutions and making the world a smarter place for tomorrow. As the Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for defining and implementing growth strategies for your accounts, and obtain profitable growth from increased market share of the EA products through growing existing business and new business. Experience in selling MV Protection relays, is essential and a knowledge of RTU’s, MVC’s, and AVC Tapchangers would be desirable. There is flexibility on the location of this role as it will be remote-based, traveling when required. Change the future with us. • Develop customer account plans including executive CRM, orders, forecasts, strategies and actions. • Maintain sales activity (order input, call frequency etc) to maximise numbers of prospects and opportunities to ensure DG business achieves budget order intake for designated area • Develop and maintain key prospect lists • Provide a monthly report to UK Sales Manager – on order intake, 3 month forecast, key prospect update, other sales activity and market information in line with business reporting requirements • Provide support to customers and end users to ensure high customer satisfaction levels • Maintain up to date comprehensive market information utilising business CRM and marketing tools as appropriate. • Build relationships within customer organisations • Collect market intelligence to be fed into MI@Energy group • Build up relationships across Siemens to ensure EM and Siemens cross selling (sector boards) objectives are met • Take part in customer negotiations • Support colleagues within other regions to maximise CP success rate • Track progress of the key projects from initial concept through to contract negotiation. What you need to make real what matters. • Good understanding of UK Energy Automation market • Mature and professional image • Broad understanding of the UK T&D market and drivers • Good understanding of value chain within ‘Control & Protection’ field with particular emphasis on system integrators, EPCs and OEMs • Good understanding of Control, Automation & Protection technology and applications • Broad knowledge of the organisation, Siemens, products, technologies and services • Tenacious, goal driven with a strong desire to succeed • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills • Good communicator and listener • Good presentation skills • Excellent co-ordination, influencing and facilitator skills • Good analytical skills to understand the customers business and where to focus the combined, value added efforts • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively • No specific qualifications are essential to perform this role, however a Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering would be preferable We’ve got quite a lot to offer.
