YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Nursery Lead are to: 

• Manage direct reports through motivation, recognition, leadership, and employee development and administration;
• Be responsible for site capacity planning and tracking labor and field operations;
• Be responsible for development and implementation of local IT strategy and solutions, site QMS and stewardship programs;
• Oversee all aspects of field nursery/breeding/TI operations, manage plant health and apply cutting edge technologies to ensure sustainable and energy efficient plant production;
• Drive operational improvements, metrics tracking and implementation of best practices through team members and along with peers;
• Ensure staff is trained in all HSE procedures, regulatory and compliance protocols, and business conduct protocols;
• Represent and contribute to the site’s involvement to cultivate trust in the community;
• Participate in the hiring and supervision of program support staff;
• Administer the recruiting, training, development and retention of personnel within Nursery Operations.

Required Qualifications:

• M.S. in Agricultural, Engineering, Biology, or related field with five years of experience or B.S. in Agricultural, Engineering, Biology, or related field with seven years of experience;
• Minimum three years of people leadership experience;
• Experience optimizing operational logistics;
• Highly effective verbal and written English communication skills;
• Computer and data analytics skills;
• Valid driver’s license.
