Position Overview: 

The Linux Foundation (LF) APAC is the leading Open Source organization within APAC, responsible for such world leading projects as; Linux OS, Kubernetes, Hyperledger (Blockchain) and AI to name a few. We are seeking an Open Source Consultant to expand our services and support to all Linux Foundation members and for selected projects within China and APAC. We expect the candidate to have a demonstrated Open Source skill set in Cloud Native, AI, Edge, DevOps and knowledge of the open source developer ecosystem. This position is based in Hong Kong and may need to travel to China frequently and APAC occasionally.

On the job training and guidance will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Keep current on the progress of popular open source projects within LF that are significant in China and to our China members.
2. Provide proactive member support to our LF open source community in China and APAC
3. Read and Digest technical content from Linux Foundation blog post and localize them to Chinese and share with the community in China. Translate Chinese member blogs to English and share with the global community.
4. Manage relationships with open source community leaders in LF members and provide support to their business needs and use cases in open source.
5. Support LF APAC business development needs and creation of sales enablement materials

Requirements Include:

1. 3 – 5 years of proven technical experience in open source, including coding, cloud native computing, AI and Edge.
2. Willing to learn new technologies.
3. Possess a Customer oriented mindset and experience explaining complex ideas effectively through written and visual representations in both English and Chinese.
4. Passionate about engaging open source developer communities, including social medias like WeChat, Weibo, Github, Slack, etc
5. Good spoken, written and presentation skills in Putonghua and English
6. Possess a positive mindset and be eager and easy to work with your colleagues

Preferred:

1. Solid open source coding experience
2. Technical content writing experience and proficiency
