Job Description
Eaton’s is currently seeking for a OPEX Lead - Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Arecibo, Puerto Rico facility Provide leadership and support for Arecibo Feeders Operation including the identification, management and execution of feeders productivity and cost out initiatives as well as continuous improvements framework (CIF) tool implementation. Scope of the projects includes ; improve safety, reduce PPMs, increase OTP, improve qualification processes, increase capacity, and, improve OEE, implementation of CIF modules and Operationally Outstanding tool deployment. Define and lead process improvement projects in order to improve plant’s indicators (PPM, Warranty Claims, Fill Rate, On-Time Performance, Yield, and Scrap). Essential functions: Identify, develop and execute projects to increase productivity and drive cost down. Supervise small group of engineering technicians. Deploy CIF, OO and lean tool. Perform data analysis and prepare reports and presentation as required. Provide training and support to the equipment operators and technicians. Evaluate and select new technologies/equipment to improve quality, performance and safety. Manage third party support for test equipment development and qualification activities. Participate and support different audits (e.g ISO). Manage capital projects including appropriation generation, establish requirements, getting quotes, placing orders, monitor/reports progress and ensure the completion of projects. Perform safety analysis, safety inspections and remediation projects in coordination with the MESH department for the production operations Promote and promulgate all MESH Process and Policies to all the employees under his/her supervisor and ensure that they are being performed at his/her area. Develop, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods and processes. Design visual controls and embedded test. Analyzes and plan work force utilization, space requirements and work process flow. Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Generates, review, update and develop Standard Work Instruction, Visual aids and MIL's. Develop & update VSM for Currents and Future states. Analyzes and perform manufacturing parts Integration process. Provide guidance for the proper selection of manufacturing equipment and tools. Create, design & buy special tools for new parts. Perform and prepare capacity studies. Perform and develop Cost Analysis including “Make vs. Buy” . Work with the requirements established by Lean (Standard Work Flow, Manning, Layout, Operation Balance Chart, VSM, Cross Training and TPM), EQS and Mesh. Implement activities to improve Set up reduction - Lean Tools Experts. Responsible for implement Lean / Kaizen Events in mfg. area. Support manufacturing equipment design and validation. Monitor manufacturing processes/performance and provide/implement corrective actions to problems. Perform data analysis and prepare reports (e.g. OEE). Analyze equipment/processes using six sigma tools in order to identify and implements improvements (e.g. MSA). Verify and/or create Parts Routings for new and existing parts (AS400 System). Create components/product structures (AS400 system). Responsible of cost savings programs assigned. Participate in accidents investigation (EH&S). Evaluate and select new technologies/equipment to improve quality, performance and safety. Answer C.Q.M's & CAPA's in a timely manners (Take Containment, Corrective & Preventive actions, Root cause, actions plans, etc..) . Participate in audits performed to the department (ISO, EQS,LEAN,MESH, etc..). #LI-MM3 Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Minimum of 5 years of experience in components fabrication processes (Stamping, machining, molding, plating) Supervisory experience. Realigns resources to meet changing customer needs. Hand-on experience identifying, managing and executing projects Corrective and Preventive maintenance experience. Identification and selection of new technology to improve quality and performance. Support internal/external audits including certification renewal. EHS practices, regulations, and procedures. Proactive attitude towards problem solving and resolving issues that may affect plant/employees health, safety, and operations. Availability to work extended hours when required by management. PC Proficiency including knowledge of MS windows operating systems, MS Office and Minitab.
