Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical Division is seeking a Talented Operational Excellence Manager for the Lincoln, IL facility. This position is based at our Lincoln, IL. Relocation Assistance will be provided. Position Overview: The Operational Excellence (OPEX) Manager plans, develops, directs and coordinates the Eaton Lean System, OpA and Continuous Improvement Framework integration and drives cost out for the facility. In this function you will: Drive the OPEX strategic vision and roadmaps for Eaton Lincoln, IL facility Provide expertise for Eaton Business System Tools and training including EBS Pull, OpA, EBS-A, and other tools Drive Cost-Out Accountability for the Division including monthly Cost-out Calls and follow-ups Provide support for Functional Groups at the Division Level for Kaizens, problem solving, and to ensure EBS adherence. Liaison with RWD CI to ensure alignment and monthly/quarterly/annual requests Lead and coordinate OpA processes for division: Quarterly/Annual Leadership Review. Assist in Plant Validated/Self-Assessments including submittal to the OpA office and all accountability reviews with Plant members Manage the Leadership System for the site with focus on driving compliance on EBS Pull, OpA processes, Cost-out, and Training Lead and facilitate structured Problem-Solving events including Kaizens and RIE's Coordinate all monthly/quarterly/annual CI requirements Drive the Six Sigma program success by providing training, technical support, and program coordination Lead cost out data tracking and analysis Build ELSS organizational capability and develop local ELSS/CI Tool Champions by providing training and consulting support Utilize change management techniques such as ADKAR to effectively drive and sustain process improvements Lead the Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment (visual controls, process standardization, leader standard work, Gemba walks, manning strategy, daily accountability, process checks and CI for everyone) Responsible for working with Plant and Divisional leadership in identifying high-priority areas for improvement from annual Plant level Value Stream Mapping rounds: in order to ensure ELSS efforts are aligned to and fully support Profit Plan and Strategic Plan goals Lead self-assessments, monitor assessment outcomes and corrective action plans, and impact on business results Support the achievement of Plant Cost Out goals as established by Profit When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required Three (3) years of experience in continuous improvement Relocation Assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Lincoln, IL Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future Preferred qualifications: Hands on approach to implementation (e.g. Kaizen Events) Demonstrated experience using problem solving & Six Sigma statistical tools (including A3, 8D, Problem Definition, Data Collection, Brainstorming, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Cause & Effect, Error Proofing, Variation Analysis, SPC, MSA, and DOE) to solve problems Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Pull System, Standardized Work, 5S, TPM, Setup Reduction and Error Proofing. Problem solving tools & methods, including statistics and process variation reduction tools. Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) Position Criteria: Must excel of leading large teams across multiple locations Strong communication skills Use innovative techniques for influencing and driving change efforts Well-developed communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer. Strong analytical skills and business acumen Must be able to achieve goals by working collaboratively and cross-functionally Must be capable of working effectively in diverse cultural situations with our global team members. Must be capable of initiating and providing recommendations for Business Unit and Division senior leadership review and approval that will achieve desired outcomes.
