What you will do

Let’s do this! Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will conceptualize, design, conduct, analyze, interpret and publish observational research supporting regulatory commitments, medical priorities, and the commercialization of Amgen’s products in the cardiovascular therapeutic area. The real-world evidence (RWE) you generate will be important in launching new products across the globe, fulfilling regulatory requirements ensuring that our drugs are safe, and improving access of Amgen’s products to patients with the greatest unmet needs.

• You will develop strong partnerships with internal partners to meet the product needs.
• You will plan resource allocation to accomplish multiple research projects and attain project and study timelines.
• You will identify innovative, timely and efficient methods to conduct epidemiologic studies.
• You will help build and facilitate Amgen research collaborations with key opinion leaders and professional societies.
• You will promote understanding and use of observational research methods in drug development and commercialization

The Center for Observational Research (CfOR) leads Amgen’s strategic effort to use real world evidence (RWE) to help increase the efficiency of development and drug commercialization. To ensure efficient support of Amgen business, Amgen’s CfOR is a global organization whose agile structure delivers strong regional teams coupled with industry-leading analytical capability in its RWE ecosystem. You will be joining the well-established, dynamic global team that is based in the US.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree OR
• Master's degree and 3 years of observational research experience Or
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years observational research experience Or
• Associate's degree and 10 years of observational research experience Or
• High School diploma / GED and 12 years of related research experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate degree in Epidemiology (or other subject with high observational research content)
• Proven experience of working with US EMR and Medical Claims databases in pharmaco-epidemiologic research
• Self-motivated with the ability to develop credibility with colleagues within and outside observational research, as well as interact effectively in multi-disciplinary matrix teams to influence decisions.
• Experience in collaborating with internal/external research partners and in running multiple tasks and complex projects.
• Ability to work well within a business-driven environment, balance priorities and prioritize multiple tasks through careful planning, stakeholder management, project administration, and organizational skills
