The Senior Manager of Observational Research within Amgen’s Center for Observational Research will guide the pharmacoepidemiology research to supporting the development, processes, and execution of post-marketing safety studies across Asia. The role will serve as a strong partner with cross-geography teams, cross-functional teams, and the external research community. This location of the role is open within Amgen offices in China.
The role is responsible for:
a) Leading observational research studies that make significant contributions to the scientific direction of investigational molecules in China:
- Identify the observational research activities to support R&D team strategy
- Design and conduct the observational studies that describe the frequency and natural history of disease, support the design of clinical trials, and evaluate safety and effectiveness of medicines
- Demonstrate creative thought in applying methodological solutions
- Conduct research to highest standards of the profession
b) Advancing Amgen’s core capabilities to conduct observational research within China
- Develop and lead local team for observational research supporting R&D
- Actively collaborate with Amgen’s global network of epidemiologists and the external research community
- Leverage and build upon Amgen’s data strategy and analytical capabilities
- Advance the use of real-world evidence to inform decision-making
- Enhance processes for the operations of observational research in compliance of local regulations
c) Engaging with key stakeholders in R&D teams
- Coach and facilitate awareness to the appropriate use and timing of observational research to answer high-priority strategic questions
- Monitor stakeholder priorities and align resources against those priorities
- Communicate significant scientific information to a variety of internal audiences, health authorities, and the scientific community including manuscripts
Qualifications:
- PhD in epidemiology or other subject with observational research content or MD with a master’s degree in a subject with observational research content
- Three or more years of experience leading observation research studies within industry or academic setting
- Record of publications in observational research
- Excellent verbal and writing communication skills in English
- Professional experience in Asia
