Job Description

Manufacturing Engineers provide tactical and strategic operational support to ensure the successful ramp and sustained output performance of a high-volume semiconductor fabrication facility.

The Ocotillo Technology Fabrication (OTF) Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • The analysis of cycle time and tool availability information to drive improvements in factory line velocity as well as the implementation of operational systems to drive productivity improvements, ensure smooth implementation of changes affecting operations, and drive lean methodologies.
  • In addition, this role will focus upon turning the output of data analytics into sustainable reporting systems or machine learning algorithms that will be used by a large number of factory employees for the tactical and strategic management of material as it moves through the factory.
  • This will involve the conceptual design, creation and management of operational systems that will be used across multiple areas of the factory to ensure optimal performance is achieved in all areas.
  • This position will require strong partnership with a large number of factory groups that may include Production Managers, Captain of the Ship (COS), FIST leaders, Automation, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering and the Remote Operations Center (ROC) staff and technicians.
  • This position will be expected to analyze key factory metrics and drive improvements through lean philosophies to provide direction that will improve overall factory performance.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience with various data analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Model Based Problem solving
  • Experience with various data analysis techniques.
  • Experience in configuration management practices and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
  • Knowledge in 2 of the following: process engineering, fab automation or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience in configuration management practices and BKMs.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in:
    • High-volume wafer fab facility.
    • MES300, Level 8 automation, APF rules, QVR, NG 2.2, PX2, FSUI, OpsView, etc.in
    • Manufacturing science and data analysis.
    • Lean manufacturing process implementation and methodologies.
    • Data analytical tools such as MS Excel, JMP, SQL Pathfinder and Power BI.
    • Writing SQL code for Oracle and SQL Server Databases.
    • Operations research including theory of constraints, supply chain management and factory physics.
    • Driving improvement projects and roadmaps across organizational boundaries.

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
