The office manager is the swiss knife of our office operations in Amsterdam. Your goal is to delight our team and visitors by arranging practical matters, from logistics and facilities over events, occasional customer requests and administrative paper work. You’re a key contributor to the growth vibe PayPal has as digital commerce platform company.

Role Purpose

The Amsterdam team in PayPal covers many disciplines but works in a united way. The office manager ties all practical things together so everyone can excel. You are the first representative of PayPal to new people, employees and visitors. Internally and externally, you are very strongly connected with suppliers on domains as facilities, payroll, catering, finance, IT.

Requisite Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors and manage incoming calls.
  • Coordinates with Building property management in providing security, maintenance and other building operations and services as provided by facilities management.
  • Own team wellness projects.
  • Manage all food, snack and drink orders to budget.
  • Own ad hoc projects on team and customer events.
  • Enable the office team to operate from onboarding, IT supplies and administration.
  • Retrieve mail from mailroom daily, sort and distribute mail.
  • Work with external vendors and all other related facilities management.

  • Good organisational and administrative skills with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to use own initiative.
  • People oriented person, energizing colleagues.
  • Ability to handle issues of a confidential nature with tact and diplomacy.
  • Be observant and on top of corporate processes.
  • The ability to multitask and remain calm even in hectic times.
  • Familiarity with PayPal’s services would be desirable.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.

Key Experience  

  • A B.S. or M.S. degree, or equivalent experience;
  • Experience as an administrative assistant in a professional work environment
  • Proven mastery of MS Office applications; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint - both on Mac & PC
  • Understanding of a fast-paced environment with a realistic sense of urgency and flexibility
  • Prior small company / start-up experience a plus
