The University is now looking for a high caliber professional to join our mechanical services unit of the building services (operation & maintenance) team.
The appointee will provide administrative and technical support on operation and maintenance of the University’s mechanical installations including plumbing, fire services, lifts and escalators, air compressors, lifting appliances and lifting gears, gondolas, electric and gas water heaters, etc. to ensure they are operated and maintained in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.
The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:
- Supervise in-house staff and service contractors;
- Design and prepare tender documents and work/purchasing orders including specifications and drawings;
- Arrange and attend hand-over inspection of new projects;
- Liaise and coordinate with internal parties, end-users and services contractors on the planned maintenance, daily operation, replacement, improvement and upgrading works of mechanical services installations;
- Hands-on work on various mechanical services installations; and
- Perform shift duty and attend emergency duties.
Applicants should have an associate degree/higher diploma/higher certificate in mechanical engineering, building services engineering or related disciplines plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience, 3 years of which should be at supervisory level. A good command of both spoken and written Chinese (including Putonghua) and English as well as AutoCAD application is essential. The ideal candidate should also have good analytical and organizational skills, strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
