Job Description

ESTATES OFFICE

The appointee will be a member of the Facilities and Campus Management Section to manage an outsourced security team of over 100 personnel and provide quality security service for on-campus and off-campus premises of the University for the Estates Office.

Responsibilities: 

  • Review and implement security procedures and practices;
  • Prepare security plans and participate in security operations for the University’s events/functions;
  • Monitor daily operation of outsourced security-related services including but not limited to car park management and maintenance of security installations and equipment such as closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system and access control systems;
  • Conduct drills to ensure the effective performance of security functions; and
  • Liaise and coordinate with stakeholders or law enforcement departments to assess potential threats on campus security and operations.

Requirements: 

  • A recognised degree with four years’ post-qualification work experience in the security field or related disciplines;
  • Solid experience in developing security processes, procedures and standards;
  • Good communication and language skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in security systems such as CCTV surveillance system, alarm management system and car park management system will be an advantage; and
  • Hard-working, self-motivated, customer-oriented, and able to work collaboratively and independently.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
