Information Technology Services Center (ITSC) is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure of the University, and championing the wise use of IT for learning, research and administration activities.

The Cybersecurity team is a new unit overseeing the advancement of cybersecurity maturity of HKUST. We are looking for a high-caliber individual who is interested in joining this fast-advancing IT sector.  The appointee will be required to undertake projects covering cloud security, security threat analytics, intrusion detection, device hardening, security forensics and compliance monitoring.

Excellent career development will be provided to the appointee who has the passion of becoming a cybersecurity expert, including opportunities to attend high-standard overseas security trainings and meet industry experts; working on frontier cybersecurity projects and gaining practical experiences, as well as learning state-of-the-art cybersecurity tools.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or equivalent with at least 2 years' relevant work experience, preferably in different cybersecurity areas. Knowledge in cloud technology like Azure will be an added advantage. Applicants should have strong technical skills, good logical reasoning to identify weakness, be meticulous to details with a forensic approach to challenges.  They should be able to work under pressure and as a good team player with self-initiatives. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
