Job Posting Details

The appointee will be required to plan, organize, and coordinate works relating to horticulture, planting and maintenance activities of all the soft landscape (indoor and outdoor) on campus. He/She will be responsible for the following: 

• Monitoring and supervising outsourced landscaping companies/contractors;
• Handling administrative works and supervising in-house Landscaping Workers and Assistants;
• Managing two plant nurseries within campus;
• Liaising with and organizing floral display for event/function requests from other departments;
• Responding to emergency and organizing urgent works outside office hours, as well as working half day on Saturday and taking time-off during weekdays as appropriate;
• Carrying out any other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have a higher certificate or above in horticulture, biology, botany, forestry, arboriculture, environmental science or related disciplines; at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in maintenance/contracting works in the trade of horticulture, with experience in supervising and managing a working team. The appointee should be conversant with the use of computer and Microsoft Office softwares. Good communication skills in English and Chinese are required. Experience in managing plant nursery is preferable. Those who hold professional qualifications such as Certified Horticulturist/Arborist recognized by the HKSAR Government would have an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
