Job Description

As an integral part of Intel's new IDM2.0 strategy, Intel is planning to invest more than 20 billion in the construction of two new leading-edge chip factories in Ohio to boost production to meet demand for advanced semiconductors, power a new generation of innovative products from Intel, and serve the needs of foundry customers. This position is the Production Department Manager of the next US greenfield mega-site: a large-scale, multi fab, 3000+ employee operation supporting Intel's internal and foundry wafer supply with production expected to start in 2025. This position reports to the Intel Vice President of Operations for the Ohio Site. The Production Department Manager owns the project strategy for the new fabs at the Ohio site, from design to start-up/ramp of the new technology, ensuring activities coordination to meet the project milestones and timeline.
A Production Department Manager will be responsible for but not limited to:
Fab Sort Manufacturing (FSM) is responsible for the production of all internal Intel silicon using some of the world's most advanced manufacturing processes. With fabs (short for fabrication facilities) in Israel, New Mexico, Ireland, Arizona and Oregon, FSM operates as a highly coordinated virtual factory network, supporting multiple technology nodes for all Intel products. FSM supports new product introductions (NPIs) for all new products entering the high volume fabs, evaluates performance of each product to enable supply commits and approves risk start memos (RSMs) for all products that begin Start up and ramp in FSM factories ahead of production qualification.
This role owns executing tactical and strategic factory operational performance to meet factory commitments.

Strategically, the successful candidate will be responsible for mapping and implementing continuous improvements for the overall site manufacturing capability, ensuring the strategic site capacity, reporting systems, and production capability meet the strategic needs of the site.
Tactically, this role requires integrating the capabilities of the site operational infrastructure to meet the site line item commitments, meet the throughput and cycle time commitments, scheduling priority lots, and meeting all customer/divisional needs around product delivery.
This role requires a highly integrated knowledge of fab operations, engineering, capacity assessment, and automation systems to make tactical and strategic decisions for the factory as a whole.
To maintain a high degree of alignment on these decisions, this role will need to develop a high level of influence and leadership with his/her Department Manager peers, factory and support organizations (Automation, CS, GSM, TMG SP and CPLG) and factory management, both within Ohio and across the VF.
The successful candidate will also mentor the production and manufacturing leadership to establish the operational rules, line management, capacity systems, automation systems, and throughput performance feedback systems/infrastructure to successfully deliver the site commitments.
Demonstrate competence in engineering, project management, automation systems, industrial engineering, operations, maintenance, safety, organizational development and people management.
Demonstrate capability to utilize experts from multiple technical and business fields to synthesize complex and robust solutions in a HVM environment.
Demonstrate understanding of factory operations/disciplines and the ability to integrate them.
Demonstrate proficiency in applying Manufacturing Science and Lean thinking, tools, and systems to build a learning organization as well as developing high performing teams. The successful candidate will be able to develop the future operational leaders of the Ohio Site.

Once hired, this person must be willing to temporarily relocate to Portland, OR, AZ, Israel or Ireland for training assignments from 6 months to a year.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D in Engineering or science like: physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, industrial engineering and other engineering/science related field.
  • 15+ years of Process Engineering, Manufacturing experience or other related engineering functional areas in 300mm semiconductor manufacturing

  • Work experience in multiple expertise areas.
  • An engineering degree and prior technology transfer and startup experience.
  • Demonstrated Leadership and Management of technical teams.
  • Experienced Manager
  • Data analysis capabilities

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders
