Oil Products market reporter will cover the fast evolving energy markets like petroleum products in China through price assessments, news coverage, maintaining and expanding the contact base, and attending conferences. The Reporter will also spearhead development of market coverage, alongside the existing editorial team.
Candidates should possess good writing and numerical skills, plus basic computing skills. Fluency in Chinese and English would be an advantage. The work involves cross-checking price assessments, and including analysis in the commentaries. A familiarity with global crude oil, oil products, crack spreads, and/or forward markets would be an advantage.
Specific responsibilities:
- Identify and monitor trends to produce commodity prices, market analysis, news and reports
- Daily contact with traders, brokers, investors and key market figures to build relationships
- Contribute copy to relevant publications and the on-line news service
- Attend meetings, conferences and industry events to build contacts, report on news and represent Argus
- Liaise with Argus staff to ensure current knowledge of Argus products and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across commodity markets
- Work with commodity analysts around the globe to extract maximum value out of data collected across the organisation and to deliver integrated analysis
- Identify new sources of data to capture within the Argus fundamentals databases
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. Earlier or later hours, or weekend hours, may be expected on occasion.
Travel
5-10% is expected for this position.
