Omdia advises some of the world’s display technology vendors on market strategies, trends, and best practices from across the TMT (telecoms, media, and technology) industry. We deliver these services around the fastest-moving technologies through either our subscription or consulting divisions.

The Displays consulting team provides a range of custom research services which includes: total addressable market analysis, competitor analysis, customer insights, product benchmarking, and business strategy development. We also provide marketing services that help our clients position themselves for growth, through the design and delivery of messaging strategies, the production of thought leadership white papers, and case studies.

As a result of our continued growth we are seeking a full-time Principal Consultant to design and deliver custom services in the displays industry.  As well working on some of the most exciting projects in the displays market through our blue-chip client list, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening existing customer relationships throughout Asia-Pacific.

Responsibilities:

Market Research

• Excellent knowledge of the display technology, components, and materials industry is required.  Experience in the Touch & Interface, Flat Panel Display Manufacturing & Supply Chain, or Display Materials & Components is required.  Knowledge and experience in AR/VR and wearables are an added bonus.
• Market research skills - Experience with strategic advisory, bespoke consulting, technology assessment, competitive analysis, customer profiling and segmentation, market sizing and forecasting, and go-to-market strategies is required.

Project delivery

• Manage custom research deliverables, delivering projects to client satisfaction
• Project management skills – awareness of budget, timeline, and program delivery management.

Bid Management

• Work closely with the display consult director, display analyst community, and sales to develop new business.
• Manage the proposal and bid stages of displays custom projects
• Where necessary and manage third party sub-contractors

Business development

• Work with displays consult lead in building a compelling consulting proposition that builds on Omdia’s reputation as an “industry thought leader”.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the displays research team, as well as the account management team to expand Omdia’s presence in key accounts by networking with research users and executives.
• Working with the displays consulting lead to implement the regional displays growth strategy.

Education & Experience

• Experience in flat panel display technology, manufacturing, components, and materials industry is required.
• A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in the displays industry is required.
• Excellent and proven client management skills
• Ability to work with many stakeholders
• A Master's degree in engineering, business, economics, or displays industry-related fields is highly preferred.
• Will consider any equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Bilingual fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and English
