The Medical Evidence Delivery Team within the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) is responsible for the operational delivery of primary observational and interventional AstraZeneca sponsored studies, externally sponsored research studies and early access programs in order to generate the evidence to build confidence in AZ therapies and provide access to AstraZeneca therapies for patients in need.

What you’ll do

The Enabling Functions Director will oversee a multi-functional team of support staff including Data Managers, Business Analysts, Team Capacity Manager, Process & Quality manager. Additionally, this role will act as the OBU Medical Evidence Delivery Team host manager for all franchise operations staff based in the Poland Hub.  This role will also be responsible for implementing efficient resourcing strategies to manage the capacity aligned with demand fluctuations, foster inspection readiness and operational excellence best practices, and planning and implementation of change management initiatives.

Essential for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree within a scientific or healthcare field or significant and comparable experience, Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience within pharmaceutical industry, ideally working in a global clinical development field
  • Extensive global project management experience including effective management of priorities, resources, performance targets, risks and contingency plans 
  • Experience managing within a global team structure
  • Project Management qualification or significant and comparable experience
  • Experience or good understanding of the Medical Affairs environment, real-world evidence, non-company sponsored medical evidence projects and early access programs development/delivery across franchise area
  • Experience of managing within a matrix organization
  • Experience of managing support functions  
  • Experience of managing change initiative projects  
  • Proven ability to interact widely and effectively within the company across regions, functions and cultures
