Job Description

Title: Operation Services Supervisor

 

Function: Sales Organization

 

Department: District - Facilities

 

Reports to:  District Facilities Manager

 

Direct Reports: None

 

Overall Job Function:  Responsible for supervising an in-store cleaning team to perform a wide variety of custodial/cleaning duties and performs related-work as required. Optimizes the store’s selling by providing the customers with a pleasant shopping experience, a clean orderly and safe environment; including providing customers with garment options and direct service.

 

Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

 

  • Works effectively with team members to perform housekeeping services on sales floor, fitting rooms, and BOH area.
  • Communicates cleaning results/issues to the District Facilities manager and reports them in the Big Sky in the agreed upon timelines
  • Follows up with scorecard results and supports District Facilities Manager to create and work with plans of action
  • Organizes and distributes the work of his/her staff, sets priorities and keeps an overview of the tasks to be accomplished in accordance with the cleaning guidelines
  • Assists with recruiting, on-boarding, training, development and provides succession planning feedback for the operational service technicians in the store, in partnership with the Store Manager
  • Assists with providing performance feedback of Operation Services Technicians to the Store Manager, in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including assisting with corrective actions.
  • Follows and executes safety and security routines to prevent loss and guarantee employee and customer safety
  • Ensures recycling and refuse is properly sorted and removed on schedule according to local DSNY guidelines at each location.
  • Maintains all cleaning related equipment and reports results/issues to District Facilities Manager
  • Maintains weekly log on all janitorial conditions and recommendations in accordance with H&M guidelines & standards
  • Performs follow up with visual team and stock team on display and stock material disposal
  • Responsible for reporting on inventory of all janitorial supplies and equipment to Store Manager and District Facilities Manager.
  • Provides excellent direct and indirect customer service according to H&M standards and meets the 5 basic demands on the selling floor, in the fitting room and at the cash point.
  • Adheres to H&M values and internal standards policies, and procedures contained in the H&M Employee Handbook

 

 

 

 

Financial Accountability:

  • Assists in managing a janitorial budget in conjunction with District Facilities Manager, span of approximately 1-4 stores
  • Accurate recording of sales and worked hour figures of Operational Service Technician at each location

 

Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 year in experience in cleaning services industry or comparable role, including direct supervisory experience, or comparable management role experience

  • Since travel between stores is involved, Valid Driver’s license and access to a vehicle is strongly recommended.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within Manhattan
  • Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive
  • motions, push, pull and carry items (mannequins, clothing, totes, torsos, etc) for a short distance
  • Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool
