Job Description
Position Overview Our dedicated support team provides technical assistance on motion control technology and drives, including SIMODRIVE, SINAMICS and SINUMERIK models. The service includes repair support as well as access to obsolete hardware and software components. This team is also responsible for assembling our Industrial PC for the North American market. Our processes include electronics troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and test. A successful operational excellence leader will lead the overall continuous improvement efforts across all functions of the operation for the Lebanon Repair and Assembly Center. Typical responsibilities as the Operational Excellence Leader include Developing a Continuous Improvement culture, Identifying improvements to repair operations and customer experience. Leading improvement projects using a Lean / Six Sigma approach and Facilitating the EH&S and Quality Management Systems for the location. This position is part of the Customer Services Business Unit of the Digital Industry Division of Siemens located in Lebanon, OH and reports to the Repair Center Manager. Responsibilities Lead the Lean/Continuous Improvement program to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance expectations. Lead and coach the team with improvement workshops, kaizen events, chalk circles, VSM and other Lean methods. Lead and coach the team on problem solving activities - containment actions, root cause analyses and long-term corrective actions Support the repair center technicians in the analysis of technical problems with the product in order to complete mechanical and/or electrical repairs Plan & support the ramp up, set up and start procedures to test products, machines, and equipment to ensure appropriate functionality. Primary liaison between repair center and applicable Siemens Headquarters for Manufacturing and Product related topics and to implement global repair strategies. Support the instrumentation, control, connectivity, and analytic solutions around manufacturing equipment and operational assets. Coordinate the creation and maintenance of documentation for processes and equipment. Support the site Environmental, Health and Safety Program. Support the site Quality Management System administration. Contribute to design, layout, realization and/or optimization technical infrastructure. Coordinate with external suppliers and maintenance service providers. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience B.S. or greater in a related engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. 8+ years relevant experience in manufacturing operations. Knowledge of Six Sigma & LEAN methodologies Experience leading Continuous Improvement systems, productivity programs, and teams to drive Plant performance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present and promote new ideas and products. Analytical thinking combined with conceptual and organizational abilities. Proactive at executing daily tasks and achieving long-term goals. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with global partners and teams. Data analysis and statistical aptitude, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. Good interpersonal skills, highly conscientious and diligent. Knowledge of Electronic Test Equipment (DMM, Oscilloscopes, and power supplies).
