The Business Performance group at Amgen Singapore Manufacturing (ASM) is seeking candidates with a proven track record in increasing productivity, maximizing efficiency, and managing human capital, equipment and facilities more effectively.

This role Operational Excellence (OE) Manager is responsible for identifying and remediating gaps between emerging business requirements and current capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Operational Excellence and other Industrial Engineering (IE) methodologies such as time and motion studies
• Supports the formulation of the site OE strategy and drive its execution
• Interface with internal and external IE, OE and Lean networks and industry groups
• Identifies ways to improve the manufacturing and support processes to ensure the highest quality, lowest cost and shortest lead time
• Perform resource modeling and assessments to baseline current state, identify gaps, and develop gap closure plans. Participate in improvement efforts to close gaps leveraging robust improvement methodologies such as Lean and 6-Sigma
• Drive the implementation of Operations Operational Excellence programs e.g. Lean Transformation (Stability thru Integration), Lean Business Systems, Human Performance, etc.
• Engage in organizational development activities and strategy development with the Senior Leadership Team
• Ensure metrics are in place to measure, track the performance of Operational Excellence programs, consolidate and communicate results
• Develop and lead site and core steering OE governance
• Identify and lead productivity improvement projects
• Train staff in Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Coach and mentor staff working on yellow/green belt projects

Basic Qualifications

Master’s Degree and 5 years of Engineering or Scientific experience

OR

Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of Engineering or Scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Operational Excellence
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (minimum Lean Six Sigma Green Belt)
• 3+ years of experience in GMP manufacturing environment (manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, warehousing)
• Expert on LEAN Manufacturing methodologies and in-depth knowledge of other Continuous Improvement methodologies along with practical experience with their application
• Proven project management skills and demonstrated ability to execute and manage complex projects and programs
• Strong analytical and creative thinking skills for effective decision-making
• Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization; including effective Data Analysis and Visualization
• Technical competency in related fields to Biotechnology and Synthetic Chemistry Manufacturing
