Production Operating Operational Excellence Manager: Establishes functional business plans and technical project objectives to meet the short- and long- term goals of the production organization. Manages employees and/or production departments in various manufacturing or product development support departments.  Indirectly Manages supervisors and/ or employees responsible for the design/ implementation of production area processes.  Directs, manages resources to implement tactical business plans and department programs/ projects.  Develops, implements solutions to department issue.  
 
SUMMARY The Operational Excellence Manager (OEM), has the primary responsibility of designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining managerial systems, operational programs, and work methods that promote the enhanced flow of good products and services, while reducing undesirable variation and optimizing cost.
 
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Managerial responsibilities include overseeing work completion and development of OPEX initiatives. Duties include scheduling, directing, coaching, making administrative decisions and providing input to performance appraisals related to OPEX activities.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The OEM will align the improvement metrics, systems, and methods they implement with the Purpose, Vision, and Values of Agilent Technologies, and coordinate and align Operational Excellence (Op-Ex) philosophies and methods with the appropriate local and corporate entities to ensure alignment and to promote the sharing of best practices across business units.
2. Act as deputy to the Director of Operations in the furtherance of Op-Ex philosophies, and methods such that instant operational goals are achieved, and such that a healthy culture of employee engagement and continuous improvement is in place and can be relied upon as a competitive advantage.
3. Design, develop, customize, teach, implement, oversee, and provide coaching for all the Op-Ex and Lean Manufacturing Tools required to facilitate the achievement of short term operational goals and longer-term organizational goals.
4. Monitor, track, audit, and report on the implementation, use, and effectiveness of Op-Ex and Lean processes across the Boulder facilities. 5. Serve as an example of how to lead in an Op-Ex culture. Promote and facilitate; data-driven decision-making, arrival at root cause, the application of scientific method to troubleshooting and problem solving, engagement-focused change management, and the concept that alignment equals flow, and human alignment is essential to achieve excellence.
6. Serve as an example of how to lead in a pharmaceutical environment. Demonstrate competence in the accommodation of GMPs and GLPs in Op-Ex programs, behave safely, and take the safety and quality into account when designing, and implementing Op-Ex Systems.
7. Lead initiatives and projects as assigned. Be prepared to assume an operational leadership role as needed to provide shift or vacation coverage, or to fill a key vacancy as an interim assignment. Act as an ambassador of goodwill, with a focus on Op-Ex, to customers and suppliers.
