A Senior Business Analyst to lead the execution of hub recharge calculations within the Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) process, using the OTP technology. Processes in scope of responsibility include Central Service Recharge, Basket Calculation, UK and Sweden segmented P&L, and Intra-hub pricing. The recharges are calculated for both UK and Sweden legal entity.
The role will report to the OTP Process Lead and support them in translating transfer pricing policy requirements into process steps executed within the system. Working with the Process lead will ensure that all hub recharge transfer price positions are reviewed and signed off by the Group Tax OTP manager. Further, the hub recharge lead will support the review and approval of P&L positions pre and post recharges with Group Finance Reporting (GFR) to meet statutory reporting requirements.
The hub recharge lead will need to gain knowledge of AZ Transfer Pricing policy to ensure that the hub recharge calculations and adjustments conform with Group Tax requirements.
The hub recharge lead will need to understand the financial make-up of the UK and Sweden P&L to ensure correct treatment in the OTP segmentation and recharge processes. An understanding of finance is key with the ability to interact with finance professionals in operations and Group to understand transactions behind the P&L:
Working with the Tax System Accountant who is responsible with the IT team to ensure timely and accurate system and data preparation ahead of each transfer pricing cycle
With the Process lead and GFR to coordinate hub recharge processes into the overall operating calendar
With the Global GFS team to acquire and understanding marketing company transfer price adjustments fed into the hub recharge calculation.
With external SET area stakeholders understand the make up of costs to ensure correct treatment in the central service recharge
With GFR in their execution of Pooled Product Royalty which shares data and processes with the basket calculation
The role will include the following:
Perform quarterly and annual true up calculations for the UK and Sweden basket calculation Perform quarterly and annual true up calculations for the UK and Sweden Central Service recharge Provide system operation capacity to support the Process lead in peak With the OTP Process lead and OTP manager translate Transfer Pricing policy, business operation changes, and continuous improvement initiatives into process steps required in the OTP system for hub recharges Communicate with various stakeholders in Group Tax, Finance, and local markets as per the requirements in the Plan, Gather, and Analyse stages of hub recharge execution Support Group Tax OTP manager in external audits and other requests by providing timely reporting and analysis With the system accountant support any design and testing required as a result of system change
Typical Accountabilities
The hub recharge lead is expected to perform at expert level in the following:
OTP System execution - Operates across all hub recharges and have the Transfer Pricing and system knowledge to support the OTP process lead in other areas during peak (e.g. marketing companies)
Preparation of Segmented P&L – Understand the structure of the AZ P&L for UK and Sweden and how it interacts with the OTP recharge processes. Understand the design of the segmentation rules and translate any changes required to IT to implement.
Stakeholder Analysis & Change – Manage stakeholder relationship in Plan, Gather, Analyse and support the Group Tax OTP manager in stakeholder relationships in review and approval and adhoc queries on the financial P&L.
Requirements Analysis and Design Definition – Support the OTP Process lead in defining new requirements (from policy, business change continuous improvement) into updated process design to provide to IT to implement changes in the OTP system. With System Accountant perform testing on any changes applied and provide process sign off once acceptance criteria achieved.
Training and Documentation – Responsible for ensuring comprehensive documentation in place to execute the hub recharges processes in the OTP system. Includes standard operating procedures, process controls, confirmations on adherence to key Transfer Pricing design principles. Coordinates necessary training with IT for any new starters.
Work collaboratively with
OTP Process lead as a direct report who is overall accountable for the hub recharge run process
Group Tax OTP Manager to ensure that OTP hub recharges comply with AZ OTP policy
Group Finance teams in the coordination and execution of their responsible OTP process executions (pooled royalty, R&D Funding model)
Sweden tax team in the performance of Central Service recharge and baskets
System Accountant and IT teams in their execution of system and data preparation, system change, and incident management
Education, Qualifications, and Experience
Essential
A Financial accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA equivalent)
Proven experience of a similar role in P&L cost allocation, planning, or operational transfer pricing
Proven experience of working with complex integrated systems and data, applying appropriate judgement to deliver exceptional results
Strong engagement, communication and stakeholder management skills, including excellent presentation and influencing skills
Experience of working in a regulated environment
Experience of virtual collaboration to lead, shape and deliver
