Job Description

The Operations Assistant will need to perform full range of administrative functions for the assigned supervisors, including organizing and maintaining records, contact with the public, preparing correspondence and reports, assistance for visiting ADB missions and other appropriate functions as required. The incumbent will report to designated International Staff or senior National Staff.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the effective coordination of supervisor's schedule by maintaining calendar and arranging appointments, meetings, travel and accommodation, as specified by supervisor in accordance with ADB procedures.
  • Coordinate travel for government nominees to attend ADB sponsored workshops and training where required.
  • Provide efficient reception services by screening incoming telephone calls, taking accurate messages, dealing with queries from internal/external calls to ensure they are referred in a timely manner to the concerned staff.
  • Facilitate missions from HQ including meeting arrangements, transportation arrangements, etc.
  • Maintain liaison with the government agencies and donor missions to facilitate and follow up on requests for missions from HQ.
  • Contributes to the efficient conduct of economic, statistical, and econometric research in PRCM; preparing research papers, providing support in performing econometric/statistical analysis using various methods and statistical software; and providing statistical services by compiling, processing, and analyzing data from different sources.
  • Undertake specific and appropriate tasks relating to Technical Assistance (TA) projects. Assist in processing and administration of TA projects in PRCM.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required by supervisor.

Qualifications

Relevant Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, public administration, or other relevant subjects
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Good computer skills with sound knowledge of common word-processing, spreadsheets and graphics software used in ADB or computer systems commonly used in multilateral organization.
  • Good understanding of the role and function of the office and a good general understanding of the organization's purpose
  • Able to work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds; good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to maintain composure under pressure
  • Able to liaise and work effectively with staff within own work location
  • Able to work collaboratively with teams as a constructive team member
  • Good command of written and spoken English

General Considerations

The selected candidate is appointed for an initial term of 3 years.
