Eaton's Electrical sector is currently seeking an Operations Controller to join our team. This position is based at our Burlington, ON head office. Essential Responsibilities: Provide financial and business support to our operations and supply chain teams including but not limited to labour productivity, inventory controls, operations reporting, cost out and other operational initiatives as required. Lead a team of professional accountants who are responsible for financial management and internal controls at our Canadian manufacturing facilities. Provide accurate and timely financial analysis and reports to aid in profitably managing the assembly businesses within Canada and makes recommendations to compensate for variances when detected. Review monthly financial results, including trend analysis and comparisons to plan, forecasts, and prior years to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement. Take ownership of all standard monthly reporting for building efficiency, ensuring it is completed accurately and within established timelines. Supervise the development and communication of internal budgets, ensure the integrity of data, and assists in the preparation of strategic and profit plans for the assembly operations. Develop, distribute, and communicates plant incentive goals, performance and results and maintains accurate and adequate reserves for incentive and agent commissions. Define, implement, maintain, and monitor financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Eaton Financial policies, GAAP, local regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Reviews and approves balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate electronic audit evidence is maintained. Trains local management on financial concepts to improve business acumen of leaders. Reviews and approves capital spending requests and develops capital requirements on an ongoing basis. Manages the accurate and efficient processing of transactions to the accounting systems and ensures compliance with federal and provincial sales tax regulations. Manage and drive cycle count and E&O inventory initiatives with appropriate stakeholders. Proactively identify and drive process enhancements across facilities to improve accuracy and efficiency of monthly, quarterly, and annual projects / tasks / inventory / cycle count to drive profitability. Qualifications Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University with a Business/Finance focus Professional designation (CPA) Minimum of 7 years of related experience in an operations environment Understanding of foreign exchange transaction and translation reporting Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Strong knowledge of ERP (Oracle) functionalities and integration (AP, AR, GL, PO, OM, Inventory, etc.) Strong knowledge of order management, manufacturing, inventory, and shipping business processes Knowledge of federal/provincial laws and regulations regarding taxes Preferred Qualifications Good knowledge of business intelligence software uses (OBIEE, Qlikview, Mentor, etc) Ability to work with others in remote locations required – effective communication across distance. Ability to build relationships with key managers and provide timely business advice are success factors. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills along with strong problem-solving abilities. Must have the ability to work effectively in a team/matrix environment. Work environment is predominantly office however plant visits and involvement are needed to gain a full understanding of the business.
