We are currently seeking an Operations Engineering Advisor based out of our Suzhou Facility. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Qualification of new suppliers or new parts for core commodities at the request/agreement of the customer working with Site Quality Supplier (SQE) together to support site business growth.
  • Carry out 5 core tools and other quality tools for NPI process and root cause analysis to enhance supplier's performance and part quality.
  • The Sourcing process for core parts - i.e. selection of suppliers for bid, creation and processing of the Request for Quote (RFQ) to the Commodity Manager (CM). Understand Cp/Cpk analysis of Critical to Function (CTF) dimensions, Material & process that will impact component costing
  • Drive business award % within region
  • Develop and execute cost saving initiatives to deliver against business objectives, to work closely with commodity managers / supplier and sub tier.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement program for Celestica preferred suppliers
  • Conduct Supplier audits for qualification for core commodities
  • Perform Engineering Analysis for core commodities and process to the appropriate Site Supplier (Quality) Engineers for supplier initiated Process Change Notifications (PCN's).
  • Interface with customer's Designers and/or Component Engineers on cost reduction opportunities and alternate sourcing opportunities of process improvement tools/procedures in support of the Site Supplier (Quality) Engineers.
  • Applies change management and engineering disciplines. Delivers performance results that directly contribute to KPI performance.
  • Provides technical expertise to audit and evaluate the effectiveness of the change implementation and suggest/leads further improvement initiatives. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Six to eight years in Hands on Mechanical Components, preferably in Automotive Industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proven records to apply for core tools and skillsets in manufacturing industry, especially for automotive industry
  • Familiar with international quality standards, such as ISO9001, preferably IATF16949.
  • Knowledge of metal stamping, extrusion, plating, painting, plastic injection, molding, over-molding. Experience in manufacturing in Industrial, Medical and Renewable Energy markets is an asset
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills (preferably in English and Chinese)
  • Advanced knowledge in engineering and Mechanical component / assembly fabrication and costing, manufacturing operational and quality processes
  • Strong project management skills, PMP knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry and quality standards and SPC methodologies.
  • Excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Good presentation, database management and computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical process control methods and techniques.
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
