Operations Finance Manager

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Finance Manager, Operations will partner with the operations management team at the St. Louis Biologics manufacturing site. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position provides reporting and analysis support on a wide scope of operational and strategic matters impacting the achievement of the site’s objectives, and will also be accountable for standard cost analysis and maintenance as well as month-end responsibilities related to inventory. The individual will present and analyze cost data in order to identify opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct standard cost analysis and maintenance
  • Assist finance with month-end close of general ledger
  • Analyze costs, production variances, bills of materials and other cost accounting functions
  • Evaluate and analyze profitability
  • Create and manage standard reporting for costing at the site
  • Interact with the supply chain management team to ensure accurate cost data
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on cost accounting for the site
  • Manage the site PPI & Capex reporting & analysis, including detailed project reporting for large investments
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Support the annual budget process as well as periodic forecast updates
  • On-going SOX support
  • Provide support for special projects/ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Support external audit process by preparation of schedules and interaction with audit team
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Outstanding financial analysis skills
  • Deep understanding of P&L and working capital drivers
  • Strong business acumen and judgement
  • Business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights that add measurable value
  • Current knowledge of trends in finance and functional best-practices
  • Ability to manage by influence
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and capable of gaining commitment and coordinate action for initiatives

  • Travel requirements: 10-15% maximum, depending on projects/priorities

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA a plus
  • Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience in financial analysis and reporting with demonstrated success
  • Cost Accounting, as well as manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion preferred
  • Advanced desktop application experience Microsoft Power point, Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and SEC reporting a plus
