Responsible for ensuring internal control activities are effective and in compliance with relevant standards and AIA corporate objectives.

Support the Head of Operations Governance in: 

• Monitoring & governance of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance requirements within first line of defense (FLOD)

• Providing assessment and initial recommendation to Head of Ops Governance team on matters related to operations AML compliance.

• Documenting and tracking FLOD ongoing AML & WLF challenges, escalation, exceptions and tracked to completion/resolution

• Following up with FLOD to ensure the smooth implementation of AML & Sanctions policies and procedures

• Guiding Ops Governance and complementing FLOD in performing AML & Compliance tasks in alignment with designated KPIs & KRIs

• Executing quality and peer reviews to ensure AML & Sanctions risks/ potential gaps are effectively addressed 

• Coordinating and facilitating risk related initiatives 

Responsibilities:

• Review, evaluate, develop, implement, maintain and verify internal and business controls for processes, systems, financial statements, journals and reports

• Identify internal control gaps and initiate appropriate remedial actions

• Work with internal stakeholders to strengthen control procedures

• Liaise with internal and external auditors on internal control issues

• Ensure that documentation for all processes across AIA is reviewed and updated periodically
