Job Description
Siemens Smart Infrastructure is searching for an Operations Manager 1 to support our growing EPS (Energy Performance Solutions) business. In this role, you will be responsible for all projects activities for large performance contracting guaranteed energy savings projects within your area of responsibility. This position can be based out of any of our Florida branch locations. Work from home option is possible, Responsibilities: - Oversees supervision of EPS project execution. Guilds projects within the business, including project organization, definition, planning, implementation, and control. Supervising operations activities, managing, labor utilization, and maintaining control of purchased service and product, Provide pre-sale technical, design and operations support to sales team. Determines resource needed to manage schedules. Seeks customer feedback and takes action to maintain high level of customer satisfaction. Coordinate job cost review estimates and but mitigation plans in place. - Participates in pre-bid reviews and sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the estimate and job layout. Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications and codes to determine project requirements. Follows up with appropriate management to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope. - Manage the development of project plans in advance of project activity assuring effective execution by the Project Team. Monitors progress to assure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan. - Prepare and oversee preparation of engineering re-estimate reports. Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs. Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting tools and works with other team members to monitor, manage and control costs. Oversees preparation of progress billings of team, pursues timely payments from the customer - Successfully defines work flow, jobs and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. May recommend /determine organizational structures and supervisory relationships for own segment of business. Responsible for overall success of assigned business. - Maintains business best practices, ensures LOA , and boundary conditions are adhered to. - Help drive sales and project development, oversees all cost reviews for all assigned projects. Assumes economic responsibility Key Responsibilities: Positions and leads a small team of project managers (typically 3-7) who manage large performance contracts with assigned area. Maintains utilization via project execution and oversees development of all projects within area. Hold cost reviews, mitigates risks and adheres to best practices such as issuance of RFP’s to all subcontractors we are receiving pricing from. Executes at a minimum Monthly Project Coordination meetings for assigned project. Drives project development to hit OI target and schedule. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a technical field preferred, however, candidates with a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalency, along with strong mechanical and HVAC experience will also be considered. - Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing large energy or mechanical commercial/industrial building projects (over $500K). - Strong knowledge of industry fundamentals and business operations; Excellent contracting skills; An understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these in managing assigned projects; Strong leadership, listening, verbal and written communication skills. - Proficient in Excel, Word, MS Project or Primavera and Outlook. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. - Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States. Qualified Applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States. - up to 65% travel. - Knowledge of utility rebates and performance contracting legislation preferred but not required. - Strong mechanical and HVAC systems knowledge and experience is preferred. - Federal and public jobs (with an understanding of prevailing wages) work experience is preferred but not required. - Estimating, design verification, knowledge of building codes, project scheduling, equipment start-up, commissioning, and project close out.
