Operations Manager – Electrical Manufacturing

 

An Exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the MEDC Operations function at our Sutton site.

The focus of this role is to deliver budgeted safety, quality, delivery cost and inventory targets.

 

You will manage the Operations team to deploy best practice across the business and to deliver accurate and meaningful reporting of operational metrics.

 

Your key deliverables:

• Lead, manage, inspire and motivate the MEDC Operations team according to the Eaton Leadership Model requirements and in line with the applicable HR policies.
• Build operational organizational capability across the MEDC.
• Carry out operational profit planning for MEDC and ensure that the objectives are met within approved budget, schedules and quality specifications.
• Develop and execute strategic capital spending plans for the business to ensure adequate capacity to meet business and product line growth objectives.
• Manage the operational financial performance of MEDC to achieve targeted EBT and growth.
• Utilize in house, HAC  and Crouse Hinds personnel to develop appropriate plans and deploy lean tools throughout the plant to deliver Cost Productivity as targeted.
• Ensure an effective integration of all operational focused functions to deliver effective processes to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Manage the financial performance of the business to achieve targeted EBT and growth.
• Deploy the Eaton Business System in line with the agreed integration agenda.
• Deploy the Eaton Quality System in line with the agreed integration agenda.
• Deploy Eaton Lean Six Sigma in line with the agreed integration agenda.
• Ensure that Operational processes are in line with applicable national, divisional and corporate guidelines, procedures, law and regulations and have these actively audited and monitored by means of available systems.
• Hands on daily management of the Team
• Liaising heavily with other areas of the business for example H&S and Supply Chain
• Management of the manufacturing operations team

 

 

Qualifications

Are you?

 

• We are looking for an experienced manager of people who has hands on experience of managing an operational function across multi functions
• The ideal candidate will have experience of working within the electrical manufacturing industry or a transferrable industry, We would welcome candidates from an aerospace, automotive and mechanical background.
• Degree qualified candidates are welcome, but this is not essential
• This position requires a candidate who has worked in a heavily certified industry
• LEAN experience is ideal but not essential
• We are looking for a candidate that has experience of working in a fast-paced environment
• We are looking for a highly motivated communicative candidate who can present to teams and to senior management
• An understanding of owning a budget is required alongside financial planning
• Shop Floor management experience is essential for this position
• Good organisation skills - process orientated and self-motivating. Excellent team working skills. Capacity to effectively organize and prioritise workloads.
• Operational Excellence required for this position
