Job Description
Operations Manager- Bognor Regis PRIMARY FUNCTION The Operations Manager will provide day-to-day Operational leadership support and management of the Bognor site location, in addition to primary job responsibilities. They will also take a lead role in the strategic and operational delivery of all operational activities within the business. The position involves working in conjunction with all departments within the business to identify, design, plan and deploy operational based solutions with associated process controls. They will develop a culture that fosters employee engagement and accountability, ownership of customer solutions and a passion for exceeding customer and employee expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Co-ordination of all daily Operational activities at site to drive the business to achieve site wide goals and initiatives to actively assist in driving the execution of the annual profit plan and ensure that the plant meets all financial and operating objectives Provide daily leadership, education, guidance, and direction to site operational employees, ensuring that employees in all functions and business groups are working effectively towards critical business goals. As the senior Operational Site representative, ensure that the location is professionally always presentable, escalating issues to the appropriate leader, function, or divisional representative Develop and implement lean process improvements. Assist to working with the corporate global supply chain and engineering teams, drive the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for the site, ensuring they are linked to Global Strategies Lead and manage all site ‘Cost Out’ initiatives. To own and drive material cost savings through improved negotiation or re-sourcing In conjunction with Applications Engineering to provide support during product development and NPI processes. Support to include providing preferred supplier information, market pricing and technology Inventory management ownership to minimize site stock holding through such initiatives to include review of open order book to include (but not limited to) the cancellation or re-scheduling of orders and to target key suppliers for potential consignment stocking or VMI programs Set and deliver departmental objectives to achieve site goals Proactively engage in all Site initiatives, activities, and conflicts as appropriate to ensure that we are exceeding customer and employee expectations Support and assist to lead site communications aligned to the communications plan. This can include monthly all-staff meetings, regular Site Leadership Team meetings, updated notice boards, employee survey action planning meetings, etc Champion all major CPS and Corporate initiatives, ensuring that the entire Site is engaged and working within established timelines. This includes but is not limited to customer and supplier visits, Corporate or functional group visitors, Talent Hub deadlines, OpA Assessments, Lean Activities, safety initiatives etc Foster a working environment where health, safety and security are embedded in the culture of the organization and where all employees accept ownership of proactively identifying, raising, and resolving safety concerns Promote a professional and positive work environment where employees are engaged and proactively working towards objectives. Facilitate positive employee relations through conflict resolution and change management Drive implementation of common global processes, aligned with CPS, Eaton, and industry best practices Assures prompt and accurate reporting systems on all aspects of plant operations including inventory, labor, and production, shipping and receiving to monitor performance against plant objectives via BSC reviews, EPM data entry whilst supporting CPS regular review processes Develops and maintains regular contact with suppliers & customers to assure relationships are continuingly developed to align with site goals Continuously improves the operations through alignment with the Eaton Business System Ensures that the organization is highly responsive to customer issues by maintaining high on-time delivery (OTD) and quality metrics Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Degree/HNC Business/Purchasing/Engineering/Manufacturing Negotiation skills Contract management (beneficial) Material management knowledge Very strong organizational and influencing capabilities 1st Class communication and presentation skills Highly PC literate MRP, JIT, KanBan, EDI, SAP Transport/distribution knowledge WHAT EATON HAS TO OFFER: Challenging projects in a dynamic collaborative team Excellent working environment- safety and ethics are important for us Competitive compensation and benefit package We make your perspectives matter- Different points of view are what drive innovation and collaboration, and at Eaton, innovation begins with top to bottom diversity We make your wellbeing matter- We put your health and safety first.
