Location: Hong Kong

 

Job Purpose: 

  • Assist Department Head/ Management to carry out the Operational Planning function. 
  • Enhance the Operations workflow of the Bank’s Hong Kong Branch, Project Management & Operational Risk Management level on a global basis requested by local authority and Head Office

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist to develop the Bank framework, policies and guidelines in relation to operational risk management
  • Review policy and procedure manuals of various bank units and incorporate internal controls and risk mitigation measures in relevant policies and procedures of the Bank Group
  • Review in depth operational risk incidents / complaints, monitor action plan and work with responsible units on operations enhancement and/or risk mitigation
  • Assist for firm-wide operational risk control and management in the role of the 2nd line of defence
  • Ability to raise questions and challenge to the 1st line of defence on operational risk issue in a reasonable and effective manner
  • Perform regular analysis on the adequacy of internal controls and provide recommendations on control enhancement
  • Experience in Fintech projects or outsourcing management will be an added advantage
  • One of the key communication bridges between internal/ key various stakeholders and external vendor to ensure smooth project implementation
  • Oversee full project life cycle, including requirement gathering, system analysis, implementation, deployment and testing, etc.
  • Prepare project plans and monitor project status
  • Conduct reviews to identify possible operational risks, provide recommendations to address the control weakness and monitor the implementation progress of the remedial action(s)
  • Conduct ad-hoc operation control review to identify room for improvements in internal control and operational compliance aspects
  • Work closely with business/ support units to effectively manage operational risks in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and other ad hoc matters as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • University degree and ideally with relevant professional qualifications in risk management, project management and / or audit related
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in operational risk management, project management, internal control and governance in bank or other Globally Financial Institution
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity to banking operations or operational risk management
  • Experience in strong Operational background and regulatory framework would be highly advantageous
  • Perform other value-added activities like exploration of new applications / technologies, assist in workflow refinement
  • Sound knowledge in regulatory requirements and experienced in banking procedures;
  • Attention to details, good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Fast learner and work independently
  • Strong communication skills and proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese
