Location: Hong Kong
Job Purpose:
- Assist Department Head/ Management to carry out the Operational Planning function.
- Enhance the Operations workflow of the Bank’s Hong Kong Branch, Project Management & Operational Risk Management level on a global basis requested by local authority and Head Office
Responsibilities:
- Assist to develop the Bank framework, policies and guidelines in relation to operational risk management
- Review policy and procedure manuals of various bank units and incorporate internal controls and risk mitigation measures in relevant policies and procedures of the Bank Group
- Review in depth operational risk incidents / complaints, monitor action plan and work with responsible units on operations enhancement and/or risk mitigation
- Assist for firm-wide operational risk control and management in the role of the 2nd line of defence
- Ability to raise questions and challenge to the 1st line of defence on operational risk issue in a reasonable and effective manner
- Perform regular analysis on the adequacy of internal controls and provide recommendations on control enhancement
- Experience in Fintech projects or outsourcing management will be an added advantage
- One of the key communication bridges between internal/ key various stakeholders and external vendor to ensure smooth project implementation
- Oversee full project life cycle, including requirement gathering, system analysis, implementation, deployment and testing, etc.
- Prepare project plans and monitor project status
- Conduct reviews to identify possible operational risks, provide recommendations to address the control weakness and monitor the implementation progress of the remedial action(s)
- Conduct ad-hoc operation control review to identify room for improvements in internal control and operational compliance aspects
- Work closely with business/ support units to effectively manage operational risks in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Perform additional duties and other ad hoc matters as assigned
Requirements:
- University degree and ideally with relevant professional qualifications in risk management, project management and / or audit related
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in operational risk management, project management, internal control and governance in bank or other Globally Financial Institution
- Strong knowledge and familiarity to banking operations or operational risk management
- Experience in strong Operational background and regulatory framework would be highly advantageous
- Perform other value-added activities like exploration of new applications / technologies, assist in workflow refinement
- Sound knowledge in regulatory requirements and experienced in banking procedures;
- Attention to details, good analytical and interpersonal skills
- Fast learner and work independently
- Strong communication skills and proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese
