The Emission Test Lab Operations Specialist ensures that the lab performs valid emission tests and that the lab stays always compliant to various internal & external requirements.  He/She works independently and in close communication with the Laboratory Manager while maintaining knowledge about BMW’s internal rules and processes as well as legal requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Accept and consolidate test orders from customers; collect necessary data, prepare data for the automation system; ensure provided data is complete.
• Prioritize, plan and schedule emission tests for four tailpipe test cells and four evaporative test cells; solve scheduling issues.
• Prepare work orders (detailed checklists) for the test cell operator (Emission Lab Technician);
• Plan, schedule and order maintenance and repairs for the test cell equipment from external providers; 
• Plan, schedule and order calibration services for the test cell equipment from team members as well as external providers;
• Ensures certification of laboratory equipment. Certain equipment requires frequently performed check procedures so the lab continues to be compliant to specific laws. Incumbent is responsible that all the required procedures are performed on time successfully. Procedure are performed by team members as well as external providers.
• Validate test reports to ensure test results provided to the customer are legit; a great part of these validated test reports are provided to government agencies of several countries. Invalid test may result in high fines and other repercussions.
• Ensures preparedness for various audits by ARB, EPA or ISO-audits; create guidelines to ensure compliance of the lab.

• Bachelors degree or 5-7 years of work experience in an emission laboratory environment
• 1-3 years in similar position in a multinational environment
• 3-5 years of similar work experience 
• MS-Office, SAP, BMW-applications, understanding of ISO9001
