Job Description

Eaton’s Hydraulics’ Fluid Conveyance Division is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor – 2nd Shift. This position is based at our Cleveland, TN Distribution Center. Relocation is offered for this position.

Position Overview:

The Operations Supervisor (2nd Shift) is responsible for managing the receiving, storage, selection and shipment of all warehouse items received either from suppliers or production shops to ensure the smooth, accurate and efficient handling of material and performance of all activities to achieve on-time shipments to customers. In this role, you will drive a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization, and leads, develop, mentor employees and provides feedback on a quarterly basis.

Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Hydraulics Business to Danfoss A/S. This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 in 2021 and this position is expected to remain with the Hydraulics Business and would transfer to Danfoss A/S. upon close. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Hydraulics Business when the transaction closes, Danfoss A/S will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

In this function you will:

  • Manage the daily activities of all employees.  Maintain adequate metrics to ensure levels of performance are known and improved upon.
  • Ensure that adequate equipment is available and implemented safely so as to adequately and efficiently receive, store, track, retrieve, package and ship to customers in the required timely manner.
  • Implement and enforce all policies, practices, and benefits and employ effective leadership techniques and employee relation’s activities to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all people working at the facility.
  • Identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, safety, quality and service.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and key intra-company people to effectively manage the operation for best results.
  • Ensure thorough training and daily audits are conducted to monitor that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the facility (this includes maintaining security measures).
  • Regularly communicate and demonstrate the Eaton best practices, ethics, values and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization.
  • Counsel and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Develops, motivates and coaches team members; acts as an employee advocate and interviews potential new hires.
  • Effectively communicates critical information to peers and associates.
  • Actively participates in cross-functional company-wide teams to assist in driving quality improvements, process improvements, business system enhancements and process standardization
  • Assists in the creation of training plans and programs, and promotes cross-training opportunities
  • Perform daily Leader Standardized Work and participate in Tier 1 and 2 meetings

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • OR High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution with five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Cleveland TN will be considered.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1 year of Continuous Improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1 year of Microsoft Office experience: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
