P&O BP Cluster LATAM Seeds, Royal Canin, Colombia

 

Job Purpose/Overview

The P&O BP is a key member of the business leadership team, responsible for shaping the business, the strategic objectives and driving results in alignment with the Mars Five Principles.
As the P&O function leader for the business, this role is responsible for enabling the Royal Canin LATAM Seeds Cluster to achieve its goals by developing effective people and talent strategies that drive high performance and engagement throughout the organization, as well as increasing organizational effectiveness.
The P&O BP acts as the people and organization business partner to the GM Cluster and to the 3 Market Heads of Chile, Colombia and Puerto Rico.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership and Effectiveness

Integral member of the Royal Canin LATAM Seeds Cluster leadership team, contributing to all business discussions and decisions.

Partner with the Leadership Team to establish strategies with clear short-and long-term goals to drive business success; maintain strategic alignment of the people agenda with the business strategy; and ensuring associate advocacy.

Develop and role model high performing team behavior within the Leadership Team in order to increase their effectiveness and performance; provide coaching, counsel and thinking partnership to the GM and business leaders, providing feedback to develop their leadership skills.

Drive efficiency across the P&O functional operating model by facilitating the adoption of Mars signature programs, offering strategic guidance to unit specific projects; and managing the interface with the business unit and CoEs.

 

P&O Functional Leadership for the Organization

Develop and implement the people agenda through talent and organization strategies aligned to enable the business unit’s success. Focus on strategic capability and talent building while championing associate engagement and well-being.

Ensure appropriate support to line mangers, enabling them to bring to life the Mars Principles and Royal Canin culture of entrepreneurship and passion for pets. Act as guardian of talent and diversity to ensure highly inclusive working environment where every Associate can contribute and thrive.

Lead Organization Development approach and tactics to deliver continuous improvement through structure design and change management that meet current and future needs of the business, including overhead effectiveness. Ensure smooth and effective implementation of organizational changes, supported by consistent attractive and relevant rewards programs

 

Business Leadership

Lead and support business units by proactively monitoring and interpreting the industry landscape and emerging trends and insights to shape the business strategy and deliver a P&O agenda that aligns Mars signature culture and behaviors with the delivery of business goals and the achievement of key performance indicators.
Lead and manage P&O programs for business units, influence the design and implementation of P&O initiatives to meet business needs, advise senior business leaders on people matters, and provide day to day leadership in P&O operations while always maintaining a focus on associate advocacy and the people agenda.
Implement initiatives by leveraging on network and knowledge of the organization to make connections, develop recommendations, mitigate unexpected and anticipated pitfalls, and orchestrate team of Business Partners associates to deliver industry leading solutions that will strengthen the brand and the business.

 

Talent & Organizational Health

Champion talent development processes and develop a talent pipeline that positions the business for short- and long-term success and develop solutions to address capability gaps and key talent needs while ensuring that the right people are always in the right roles.
Develop long and short-term workforce plans that translate into an actionable Talent Acquisition strategy.
Counsel senior business leaders on talent and organizational matters.
Ensure that organization design supports the business strategy and any changes implemented are aligned with The Five Principles and other global principles such as Organizing at Mars and the Associate Concept.

Unit Effectiveness

Drive effective and efficient P&O solutions that support business units and position associates for success – Mars Signature programs and P&O Foundations.
Works closely between senior leaders and CoE in anticipating and addressing P&O related trends and issues that directly impact the business units as well as provide insights, plans, tools and solutions to deliver outstanding service to associates.

Enabling Operations

Responsible to deliver a consistent “One Mars” experience that places the required importance on the various roles throughout the organization, including P&O CoEs, Line Managers, and associates.

 

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or related field.
  • Preferred qualification: Master/ Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or related field.

 

Knowledge / Experience            

  • 7 or more years of progressive P&O experience.
  • Substantial ability to develop strong trusting relationships with senior executives and leaders in order to gain support and achieve strategic business goals.
  • Advanced consulting skills and ability to influence decisions to a positive business outcome.
  • Comprehensive experience in development and implementation of strategic initiatives through to execution while acting as an employee champion and change agent.
  • Strong understanding of P&O strategies/policies/legal/ethic/compliance policies and practices, and ability to provide guidance in solving business needs.
  • Ability to effectively manage and work within ambiguity and prioritize on business needs and resource.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
