The vision of the Global Finance Services (GFS) Purchase to Pay (P2P) team is to make buying and paying effective and effortless for our business and to be the customer of choice to our suppliers. In order to deliver that we need to further simplify, standardise and automate our processes. The Payables sub-process owner role will lead in defining and embedding standardised and efficient payables processes. This will require someone with very strong subject matter expertise in designing and delivering top tier accounts payable services within a global organisation.

Your typical responsibilities will include:

• Being the go to subject matter expert for accounts payables within the organisation

• Defining the blueprint for how payables operational processes perform within end to end P2P and how to close any gaps to that standard

• Developing the medium-longer term strategy for P2P and T&E along with the P2P GPO and the purchasing process owner, including how shared services is maximised

• Working closely with the accounts payable operational teams on improvement initiatives and corporate objectives, including defining a playbook for incorporating acquisitions within P2P

• Improving data strategy for P2P and T&E and ensures high quality data to drive procurement and spend insights/analytics, operational performance, appropriate process quality metrics and working capital performance.

• Leverages relationships and external networks to bring best practice, market insight and cutting edge development understanding to AZ

• Coaching of direct and indirect reports, talent development and successor identification

Essential Experience:

• Deep accounts payable subject matter expertise

• Demonstrable experience in positioning and leveraging payable tools and capabilities

• Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking ability

• Able to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global and regional environment

• Able to travel, if required.

• Ability to influence strategically and persuade tactfully, to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive, organisational relationships
