Global Financial Services (GFS) was formed in Q3 2018 through the merger of Global Finance Operations, Integrated Finance Solutions and Cash Generation. GFS is at the heart of the Finance function - accountable to the AstraZeneca (AZ) Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes that enable our customers to focus on AZ’s strategic priorities.


Our processes cover record to report, purchase to pay, order to cash, controllership, financial planning and analysis and finance operations, and we drive AZ’s cash focus through disciplined management of supplier and customer payment terms and practices. GFS provides P2P/T&E process helpdesk services to internal AZ and external end users, including training support to internal AZ users.


GFS operates globally through a combination of in-house captive and offshored business process outsourcing (BPO). The BPO element has been provided in partnership with our service provider partner Genpact since 2008.


AZ Finance is part way through an ambitious, broad ranging, multi-year transformation programme, called Finance Transformation (FT). FT plans for transactional process and technology improvements will underpin a next wave of GFO transformation and a step change in service effectiveness and efficiency.


The role holder reports to the Global Finance Operations (Accounts Payables) Lead and is accountable for the operational process delivery, accounts payable setup, standardization agenda and continuous improvement.


The role is considered as a middle management position, overseeing a team and its accountable for the operational targets.


You will be required to undertake some international travel in this role.

Typical Accountabilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Analyze trends, errors and priorities, create and execute/oversee the adequate action plans to ensure target
achievement on every Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and guide the operational teams so proper actions can be promptly executed
for problem solving and KPI target acquiescence.
• Act as liaison between our contracted Business Process Outsourcer (BPO), Local/Regional Stakeholders and
Suppliers to define solutions and strategies that allow effective problem resolution, ensuring no future
recurrence.
• Interact with the Finance Transformation Team and support all projects related to the Accounts Payable (AP)
processes and warrant all changes work seamlessly and provide sign off on such changes on behalf of the AP
organization.
• Resolve first level escalations for the countries in scope (NAM + LATAM).
• Approve SAP/Legacy Systems (Newgen, Concur, FG, GRC) role requests when pertinent.
• Act as Fieldglass administrator and execute the stablished SOX controls for this process.
• Support Local/Regional projects as P2P SME and provide the necessary input to ensure success.
• Among Others.

Essential
• Manages the process service delivery to global KPI’s through the service provider. Driving performance to
objectives, providing management and ensuring delivery through the service provider’s organization.
• Have a good knowledge of own process area and how this has been implemented across the world. Will identify
improvements and implement change with clear outcomes of improvement and standardization.
• Ability to resolve issues partnering with the service provider to implement change as required.
• Owns process improvement for own area and can demonstrate measurable improvement year on year
• Clear focus on end to end process performance across the finance organization. Collaborates with IT,
procurement and the wider business for delivery.
• Provide expertise for and support delivery of transformation and process improvement projects - ranging from
small process improvements through to major projects.
• Able to communicate at finance leadership level within the organization and with strong communication and
stakeholder management
• Able to drive a change agenda to delivery and benefits.
• Will need to work regionally across time zones and cultures.
• Strong problem-solving ability and mind-set.
• A recognized qualification in finance, business administration, accounting, economics or any related career.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in Accounting fundamentals.
• Use of general Microsoft Office and systems such as SAP.
• English language proficiency, both verbal and written.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, ability to work with large databases, macros).
• Could manage indirectly a team, 6 employees approximately.
• Able to work with a remote manager.

Desirable

Other Role Requirements
• Schedule flexibility to work on holidays and/or weekends when necessary.
• Schedule flexibility to work on the days off given by the wellness Policy when necessary (Política de Bienestar).
• Flexibility to travel and work in another AZ facilities outside the country when necessary.
