Job Description Summary

Engage and support BD U.S. sales associates who are responsible for selling BD Cell and Biomarker Preservation products to drive revenue growth, enhance market development, coordinate account management and facilitate “integrated system selling” of CBP products. This position will report to the Director of Sales, BD CBP.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Drive revenue growth to meet or exceed the revenue budget in the U.S. for BD CBP products by working with BD and PreAnalytiX Sales organizations. Key activities include:

  • Maintain contact with existing customers as well as develop new customers, primarily via the telephone or electronic channels, in order to achieve or exceed sales objectives. 
    • Persuasive communicator able to use consultative selling skills to identify opportunities, overcome objections, build relationships and turn cold canvassing into sales.
    • Polished professionalism with strong organizational, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
    • Understanding of general scientific lab organization and processes
  • Internal and external clarification and communication of customer requests.
  • First point of contact for BD CBP web inquires
  • Support BD technical service to help answer customer CBP product inquires
  • Partner with CBP and PreAnalytiX Sales Specialists for the purpose of lead sharing and revenue optimization.
  • Analysis of sales reports for joint sales opportunities
    • Inform sales specialists of customer product inquiries
  • Identify and contact decision makers at high value accounts, facilitate introductions to CBP sales specialists.
    • New lead identification by Google Scholar Publication searches, Government Lab funding databases and industry specific websites.
    • Creating lead upload spreadsheets for upload by Marketo into Salesforce.com
    • Documentation of customer information and generation of reports in Salesforce.com
  • Provide Administrative Support for the US CBP Sales Team for sales logistics activities related to CBP products.
    • Internal order escalation support for CBP Sales Specialists
    • Quote generation for inside sales and CBP Sales specialists
    • Submitting sample tube evaluation requests

Support CBP marketing initiatives including but not limited to:

  • Support market development for CBP products by engaging customers who have developed or want to develop new clinical or research applications for CBP products.
  • Coordinate the dissemination and follow-up actions of sales leads that have been generated via BD CBP Marketing activities (trade shows, webinars, etc.).
  • Support BD CBP webinar development and marketing activities

Remote home-based position, with ability and willingness to travel within the U.S. less than 10% of the time.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BS or BA in relevant Life Sciences including Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Cell Biology, or closely related discipline.

Special Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of one or more of the following molecular research or diagnostics fields required: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics, and Infectious disease, Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT), Virology, Oncology, Immunology, Genetics, and Pathology. Understanding of protein separation and purification technologies including immunoassay, chromatography, electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry is required.
