Job Description

The Media performance Lab is providing performance indicators across 40+ media creation applications being enabled for upcoming PC processors and platforms. It supports application engineers in enabling features and performance in 3rd party software. It is also building a wide library of automated tests for functionality and performance measurements covering 70+ Top creator applications.

MPL is looking for a problem solver with a keen interest in PC and processor architecture and great communication skills : This offer is an opportunity to work on a wide variety of content creation and consumption applications, in a highly stimulating engineering environment. This job entails communication across multiple engineering and marketing teams to ensure issue resolution and/or proper handoffs.

As part of the Client Computing Group's Media Performance Lab, you role will be to

  • Manage automated testing of multiple media applications over released and unreleased platforms, with responsibility to organize/drive workload testing priorities

  • Develop, modify, and execute software test plans, analyze, and write test standards and procedures.

  • Document test results and issues to assist in debugging; analyze test results to ensure correct functionality, determine root causes of failures, consult with development engineers in resolution of problems, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to propose and recommend a corrective action.

  • Be the team's point of contact for issues tracking, working closely with software application engineers and platform leads

  • Provide guidance about platform health based on testing results to platform leaders and marketing teams

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS and MS in computer science or similar field education

  • Solid understanding of performance analysis

  • Deep understanding of PC architecture

  • Strong work history interacting with stakeholders such as developers, architects, program leads

  • Demonstrated initiative, ability to find a problem/fix a problem, and strong follow through

  • Proficiency with at least one issue tracking tool (JIRA, HSD) as well as GitHub automation


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in black box Performance analysis

  • Experience in Power consumption analysis a strong plus.

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
